Ant Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I feel sorry for the lad. Alongside Torres and Suarez he's probably been the only striker over the past 10 years who we have purchased who has been world class from the get go and made a valuable contribution to the team. Yet I've not heard a chant for him, or seen the love that we have afforded many others who have gone before him. So where is the love for him?
SilverSong Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 21 goals in 27 appearances. I fookin think he's absolutely brilliant and not even a bad influence. Methinks maybe people are a little surprised nay blown away by just how good he is.

I was listening to City Talk the other day I don't think it was TAW, but I think it's because he's been at so many clubs prior to ours we don't think he's ours yet. He's playing his best football here, he's from what I read very happy here and we've contributed more to his career than Chelsea did. He's ours and we should bloody love him.
matty Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Footballers aren't worth loving anymore. They are employees, well remunerated, they do their job and then go home. We look on, bemused.
aka Dus Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I think there's a huge amount of love for him but I haven't been to a match this season.
RP Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) I think most right-minded Liverpool fans do "love" him. Edited October 28, 2013 by RP
Ant Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 I think most right-minded Liverpool fans do love him. Compare the initial love to that of Torres and Suarez and it's not there.
RP Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I think it is. Are you basing your comments on the lack of a song?
Stanley Leisure Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Compare the initial love to that of Torres and Suarez and it's not there. How are you quantifying this?
Ant Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 I think it is. Are you basing your comments on the lack of a song? How are you quantifying this? Pretty much. Look at Coutinho as well, he has a song as well. Don't get why Sturridge doesn't
Ant Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 Move along, nothing to see here. I think it's a valid point. Name a player who has joined the club, made an instant impact and not had a song. Even Borini had one.
Stanley Leisure Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Pretty much. Look at Coutinho as well, he has a song as well. Don't get why Sturridge doesn't It was a question, Ant. I'll be more specific: aside from him not having a song right now, how are the levels of "love" different for Sturridge than they were with Suarez and Torres?
RP Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I think it's a valid point. I'm sure you do. I don't - I think you're looking for something that just isn't there. Sturridge loves being at Liverpool and has gone out of his way several times to highlight just how 'at home' he feels, how much the fans have made him welcome etc.
Hassony Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 How good is Sturridge? his record with us so far is nothing short of world class Potentially, if he keeps up his form, can he be considered alongside the zlatans, Suarez', Welbecks and Falcaos of this world ?
aka Dus Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 What love % accrued from the video of him getting out of the car to dance with the fan?
Stevie H Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 What love % accrued from the video of him getting out of the car to dance with the fan?he pre-empted his getting a song by arriving with his own custom wriggly arms dance. the berk.
Ronnie#5 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I feel sorry for the lad. Yet I've not heard a chant for him, or seen the love that we have afforded many others who have gone before him. So where is the love for him?We do. But in classic Richard Curtis style we just haven't yet figured out a way to tell him but don't worry cos it'll all turn out well when 45k finally realise the error of their ways for choosing the wrong Beach Boys number and discard Sloop John B to serenade him with a rendition of 'God Only Knows'
Bigal Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Lets all have some courage, dance like Daniel Sturridge, that was sung under the stands at Sunderland and Newcastle. Not a fan to be honest
Nathan Explosion Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 he pre-empted his getting a song by arriving with his own custom wriggly arms dance. the berk. At which point, everyone should break into "Wiggle it" by '2 in a room'....one amount of love, dropped in pan.
Bigal Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 If he stops that dance I will love him if he does that every time he scores, I want to see it more and more. You would be a fool to think otherwise
Cobs Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 the crowd need to do it back he shouldn't have a song, we should express our love via the medium of dance
rednotdead Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Top Premier League scorers of 2013 (calendar year) Sturridge 21 goals Van Persie 20 Benteke 20 Suarez 20 Lukaku 16 Bale 16 According to J Northcroft of Times on Saturday, so Aguero might be in the mix on 16 or so now too.
