Why don't we 'love' Daniel Sturridge yet?

I feel sorry for the lad. Alongside Torres and Suarez he's probably been the only striker over the past 10 years who we have purchased who has been world class from the get go and made a valuable contribution to the team. Yet I've not heard a chant for him, or seen the love that we have afforded many others who have gone before him.

So where is the love for him?

21 goals in 27 appearances. I fookin think he's absolutely brilliant and not even a bad influence. Methinks maybe people are a little surprised nay blown away by just how good he is.

I was listening to City Talk the other day I don't think it was TAW, but I think it's because he's been at so many clubs prior to ours we don't think he's ours yet.

He's playing his best football here, he's from what I read very happy here and we've contributed more to his career than Chelsea did. He's ours and we should bloody love him.

Footballers aren't worth loving anymore. They are employees, well remunerated, they do their job and then go home. We look on, bemused.

I think most right-minded Liverpool fans do love him.

Compare the initial love to that of Torres and Suarez and it's not there.

I think it is.

Are you basing your comments on the lack of a song?

How are you quantifying this?

Pretty much. Look at Coutinho as well, he has a song as well.

Don't get why Sturridge doesn't

Move along, nothing to see here.

I think it's a valid point.

Name a player who has joined the club, made an instant impact and not had a song. Even Borini had one.

It was a question, Ant.

I'll be more specific: aside from him not having a song right now, how are the levels of "love" different for Sturridge than they were with Suarez and Torres?

I'm sure you do.

I don't - I think you're looking for something that just isn't there.

Sturridge loves being at Liverpool and has gone out of his way several times to highlight just how 'at home' he feels, how much the fans have made him welcome etc.

How good is Sturridge? his record with us so far is nothing short of world class

Potentially, if he keeps up his form, can he be considered alongside the zlatans, Suarez', Welbecks and Falcaos of this world ?

What love % accrued from the video of him getting out of the car to dance with the fan?

he pre-empted his getting a song by arriving with his own custom wriggly arms dance. the berk.

We do. But in classic Richard Curtis style we just haven't yet figured out a way to tell him but don't worry cos it'll all turn out well when 45k finally realise the error of their ways for choosing the wrong Beach Boys number and discard Sloop John B to serenade him with a rendition of 'God Only Knows'

Lets all have some courage, dance like Daniel Sturridge, that was sung under the stands at Sunderland and Newcastle.

Not a fan to be honest

Posted

If he stops that dance I will love him

if he does that every time he scores, I want to see it more and more.

You would be a fool to think otherwise

Top Premier League scorers of 2013 (calendar year) Sturridge 21 goals Van Persie 20 Benteke 20 Suarez 20 Lukaku 16 Bale 16

According to J Northcroft of Times on Saturday, so Aguero might be in the mix on 16 or so now too.
