Duncan Disorderly Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24579046 So there's been a big fall in the price of petrol, but it's still bloody expensive. At least 80% of it is government tax and they're in the pockets of the petrol-producing giants, otherwise they wouldn't have privatised the rail network, putting freight on to the roads and making deisel dearer than petrol. But why is deisel cheaper than petrol in the Republic of Ireland? Never quite understood that. Luckily, I only live 8 miles from my work, but anyone on here regularly have to commute by car over long distances, and how much of a dent in your wages does that take?
