Premier League will be on a network for the first time ever this year.

I never thought I'd see the day, but it's pretty cool that it is.

Not all games will be on the main NBC channel, looks like only the 11.30 am Central time games will be on everywhere.

Every game will be on live and available for "free" somewhere on the NBC family of channels. NBC also has it's own online channel, NBC Sports Live Extra, which should be viewable on pretty much anything with internet access.

Directv have added 4 or 5 new channels just for the EPL games.

Divorce lawyers are rubbing their hands with glee.

I still haven't worked out how it'll all work.

obviously nbc sports and nbc are the main channels but I have no idea what will be shown where and when.

NBC sports extra (or something like that) will get games but that's not offered everywhere.

I'm with Verizon and with Fios I think the games that aren't on the main channels will be streamed.

glad I have a decent connection - the downside is that if I can't get it on tv then I can't record it - wonder if the streams can be replayed later.

Its all very confusing.

but a nice f*** you to Fox

The above link will help.

and, if you needed any more incentives to switch to Directv. DirecTV Will Offer Access to NBC’s Premier League Extra Time, According to Report

a) how does that help - it just shows that some matches are on sports extra.

b) why would I want to switch to Directv when I have verizon fios.

and some of the games will be on other NBC channels, Mun2 and Telemundo, which you should get with your cable company.

Directv is going to have extra channels on your TV, rather than having to stream with NBC Sports Live Extra.

looks like I can stream on my laptop, phone or via my dvd player - So I shouldn't lose out!

plus Directv plus fios internet is way more expensive than what I have now...

How will the womenfolk cope?

I watched the preview show over the weekend.

they use the same studio that the F1 guys use on NBC.

Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe were giving their opinions on the upcoming season..

Mustoe said LFC could make it top 4, Earle said no way.

NBC have released a few advertisements for this, one of them is regarding an American coach in charge of Spurs, which is pretty funny.

It really was. Hammered the US way of approaching things.

Hmm.. I'm having the same issue re Sports Extra.

I read an article Here that said the following:

"The 61 remaining Premier League matches will be made available on Premier League Extra Time, a bonus television package available to MVPDs at no extra cost for customers who receive NBC Sports Network."

I have NBC Sports network, but of course the cluster f*** that is Frontier doesn't seem to have Sports Extra...

In case anybody here decides to support another team. NBC have a great way to help choose a team based on factors such as favourite animal, favourite character from Pirates of the Caribbean Here Ha. Completely coincidentally, while testing this in the name of science, with the answers I selected, my team is Liverpool :)

Nice to have live streaming available for all games!

Even nicer to have all but one of the 3pm UK kick offs on TV.

My early start had me watching the Austalia-All Blacks game, then Liverpool, then Bayern Munich and the rest of the PL games.

For our game did any of you have the commentary about a half second ahead of the picture? Completely did my head in, but I can't work out if it was NBC Sports or my idiot cable provider's fault.

no. my pictures were about half a second behind the sound :D

and who the f*** was commentating. t***ts. general anti lfc then crowned it with "Saurez would have gone down in the area there" screw you. stick to the game and lose the conjecture. you tosspots.

They had better sort that sound / pic sync issue. I had to mute it (which given the quality of commentating isn't too bad a thing). I think it was Parry and Ekoku commentating. Ekoku came out with a real gem of wisdom by stating that "if Liverpool play well they can be expected to pick up at least full points".

Didn't realise that Fox Soccer channel is actually disappearing totally in the not too distant future - not hugely surprising since they've lost the English footie. Assume Fox Soccer Plus must be going the same way too

I think they are keeping Fox Soccer Plus for the Champions League and Europa League. I will not be paying $14.99 a month for it as plenty of the games will be on Fox Sports 1 and 2, and the local Fox affiliates.

The sound/pic thing gets really annoying. I was watching Ajax on GOL TV and the sound of the ball hitting the net came before the Ajax guy had taken the penalty. :o

Can't blame NBC for the awful commentators as it's the same shower of c**** that have doen the overseas broadcasts for years. Their "match of the day" show is pretty good though.

Posted

Yeah, I know it's just the same bank of commentators used across the international broadcasts - Parry, Darke, Hawthorne etc...

Robbie Mustoe on NBC is actually fairly decent...think he used to be on ESPN too.
