yellow jumper Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) And yet scored double the goals Barkley did playing for a worse team this year He's had an injury late in the season hence why they played him in all 3 warm ups Barkley has talent but he gives the ball away a lot other side of the argument is that it was a manc team that underperformed miserably and in which he was the central figure. barkley inconsistent, but one of the pluses for a resurgent everton. not that i'd personally frame this as a straight choice between the two. do think if rooney starts it shouldn't be in the hole. i'd go a diamond with any of sterling, lallana or barkley behind rooney/sturridge if they were determined to get him on the pitch. Cobs Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 other side of the argument is that it was a manc team that underperformed miserably and in which he was the central figure. think most would agree Moyes was the central figure to Utd's fortunes last year
yellow jumper Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 sure, but then england have roy hodgson managing. just think that england, like the mancs last season, aren't going to get much attacking magic or impetus from their coach, so an adventurous, risky selection not necessarily a bad thing. he's going to play obviously, but think now wrong to see rooney as either the best hope of that adventure, or, even, the safe, reliable first option.
