3 attackers new to the Prem, all had very good first seasons in terms of (league) scoring record:

Benteke 19 goals in 34 games

Michu - 18 goals in 35 games

Rickie Lambert 15 goals in 38 games

It's fairly common for players - particularly strikers - to have a good first season and then struggle in their 2nd... I think this will be the case for all 3 of these (since they all seemingly over-performed).

So - how many (league) goals do folks here think these 3 will score next season?

I'm going for:

Benteke - 12

Michu - 10

Lambert - 7

I think Benteke could score more if he goes to Spurs or Chelsea. Swansea have signed Wilfried Bony for £13m so you'd imagine Michu will play a bit deeper next season. Southampton were trying for Damiao as well so Lamerts place in the team isn't exactly secure.

I don't like the mockertastic capacity of this thread, given Coutinho has yet to prove it over a whole season when teams are a bit more forewarned about him. He's going to get a lot of attention next year, and very little time to pick a pass

the hypewagon has been slowly but steadying getting close to overdrive on him over the summer.

I didn't include Sturridge (although I know it's only second season for us rather than in the Prem) because of the capacity to mocker...

I'm intrigued mostly by Benteke. Looked very very good at times, but for me, more often he looked like a cross between Heskey (touch) and Cisse (mindlessly running offside). Also think his goal return was artificially boosted by penalties and horrific keeping / defending.

Michu's another interesting one in terms of his goal return being so much lower in the 2nd half of the season vs. the first.

I included Lambert just because of the hyperbole associated with being English and scoring goals...

Michu's a class act, may not be as prolific, but he'll get double figures.

Benteke will do alright at Villa, go to s**** elsewhere, particularly somewhere like Arsenal or Chelsea. 15+ for Villa, 10- anywhere bigger.

Lambert's a bit of a clogger, Championship player really. Gets in good positions and can finish though so could get double figures again, 20+if he goes back to the Championship.
