There are some serious issues with the reporting of this story!

 

The idea that this was at "Football match" is ridiculous. As far I understand it was a group of ignorants having a kickabout in the middle of nowhere. A "referee"? No he was a 20 year old kid with a knife.

 

Guardian were even worse, illustrated the story with a photo of Police confronting protestors from the demonstrations in the cities here last month (!) and then went on to frame it within Brasil's "World Cup Preparations" & "Tourist Safety". f***ing absurd.

That's the same basic information quoted everywhere, seen it described as an "amateur football match" and even that is a push, there's no stadium, & the "fans" in this instance were the stabbed player's mates.

 

But of course tourists should beware going anywhere near a country where they carry out public beheadings.

It's awful. No other opinion than that.

 

Just think it's strange and funny to see someone so determined to brush something like that under the carpet.
