Sad news. RIP

That's a funny pic of the team all having bottles of milk after winning the FA Cup, and notice Strong has his pinta in one hand and a fag in the other!

Remember him well. Strangely, he was bought as a striker for his heading ability but had a quiet opening. Shanks, however, had a knack of experimenting successfully by putting players in other positions which is what he did with Strong. Geoff played in the back line and looked as if he had played there all his life. He still came up on the attack but he was brilliant further back. Read the game very well. He was Man of the Match in extra time in the Leeds cupfinal, imo. Like a number of players who excelled with his heading ability, he contracted Alzeimers after he retired from the game.

Sad to hear that. I only ever saw him play towards the end of his time with us. Always struck me as a solid dependable player, one of he unsung heroes every team needs.

RIP Geoff.
