How utterly shocking. Who saw this coming?

City supporters group utterly dismayed according to their spokesman this morning, almost to a man they support Mancini for what he's achieved.

Fair play to them.

So that 4 out of the top 6 changing their manager this summer, pretty unusual state of affairs.

Also hearing whispers that Mark Hughes is going to Stoke, 33-1 at Stan James at the moment.

'This has been a difficult decision for the owner, Chairman and Board to make and it is the outcome of a planned end of season review process that  has been brought forward in light of recent speculation and out of respect for Roberto and his extensive contributions to the Football Club."

As close to a 'we've sacked him to end the speculation' as you're gonna get.

Is Wenger the only current Premier League manager who has won the Premier League now (taking it that Ferguson is gone, albeit not quite yet) ?

Never saw what Mancini actually did with that team. Should have stormed the league this year and last.

Won the league and FA Cup.

i get the feeling that a lot of City fans will be as bemused by the perception of Mancini as Liverpool fans are with the perception of Rafa.

winning the premiership isn't easy

Yep. Mancini wasn't a brilliant manager but he won the league. Can't do much more than that really. I don't buy the argument that it was *only* on goal difference either. When we finished 2nd in 2009 our goal difference was miles ahead of United's. If we'd finished level on points I'd of laughed my socks off at a title on goal difference.

it's not so much that they won the League as how - they were 2-1 down in the 90th min & needing to win.

With the money spent, they should have done better last season and this

Oh they made it far more difficult than they needed to but they still won it. I'd wager City fans have better memories of the moment they won the title last year than United do this year for instance.

rubbish

getting rid of mancini is probably the right decision because he will always struggle in europe

Well it seems now that they have the two fella from Barca, that they have a vision about how they want to play and are addressing it across the whole club

Everything that they have done so far, has been really haphazard before theirappointment. Look at the disagreements between Marwood and Mancini and the bizarre signings of Sinclair, Rodwell and Garcia last summer.

sounds and looked like he lost the dressing room, no easy way back from that. football was a bit italian too. but they were outside top 4 three years ago, with no real experience of winning to call on. don't think he's a great manager, but he doesn't have a bad record over that time, regardless of money. few english clubs have struggled with CL in first few years of qualification, although know he also underperformed with inter.

pelligrini not a shoo-in to improve results short term, even if he looks a better manager.

He's s*** and a f***ing c***.

Is right.

This is bad news. If that current squad learns to play as a team they'll be frightening - let alone with a new manager bringing the likes of Isco in.
