the only major UK paper to not cover the hillsborough panel report on its front page has given kelvin mckenzie a weekly online column.

can i propose no links to the telegraph be posted on ynwa now? f*** them and their hit rates.

Paywalled anyway now isn't it in the UK?

oh i missed that. so they made it even easier to boycott then.

club should be banning their journos from press conferences as well.

telegraph circulation on merseyside is negligible but as a moral choice, in the light of the HIP report, this is an abhorrent appointment. but then the f***ing bbc paved the way for them didn't they?

He's reaappeared on TV and in the papers at the same time.

You'd almost thing his absense from the media was just an agreed period of time, offered as some sort of pathetic lip service.

He's the epitome of the harm an editor can do, yet he's wheeled onto TV to critique the news and the media. Be laughable if it wasn't so sickening.

wtf is the torygraph even doing with that tw*t anyway? what does some brigadier bufton tufton want with his vomit while they are breakfasting in chipping snodbury?

Read on Twitter that his debut column attacked teachers, calling them "lazy Marxists".

Pitiful man.

That's exactly who he'll try to reinvent himself as, isn't it.

it's got an extremely narrow market and likes to think of itself as highbrow, which it is I suppose if that's what suits, if you live in the Cotswolds I imagine it's very comforting, but I can't think of when they've had anyone in the mouth almighty role, never mind this tired c*nt who still thinks he's taking on Ben Elton for the country's attention

Congratulations ...on your new job at the only British newspaper not to carry the report of the Hillsborough Independent Panel on its front page.

You must feel like you've found your spiritual home!

Good to see as well that you are still spouting off on subjects about which you know nothing, judging by your rant against teachers.

If you did know anything, you'd know that Malcolm Bailey is nothing exceptional and that in actual fact the vast majority of teachers show such levels of dedication to their pupils - and generally do so outside the sheltered existence of somewhere like Charterhouse. After all, we don't all work in schools who can afford to employ former Premier League footballers as coach of our 1st XI’s and so have no chance of being heralded in a prestige friendly that brings our work to such public attention.

Nor do we have the desire to be so heralded by the way - we'd settle for being left alone to do our jobs. Surely you, as a part of a profession that has spent so much of the last few months whinging pathetically about Leveson, (a whirlwind that you, as much as anyone, sowed) can sympathise with that?

I'd ask you how many hours a week you work and then see how it compares with what I do as a teacher - but then we all know you are completely incapable of telling the truth anyway, don't we Kelvin?

So, you keep on being a lying mouthpiece for the establishment ('the Marxist ranks who appear to dominate our classrooms' indeed) and I'll keep on trying to do the best to secure a future for the children I teach - including, where necessary, taking a stand against a government that seeks to condemn them to a narrow and archaic curriculum which will do little to prepare people for the modern world and even less to improve the life chances of those seeking a way out of the poverty and deprivation that blights the area where I teach. If you think that makes me as much of an extremist as self-proclaimed fascist and alleged user of racist slurs Paolo di Canio then clearly your grip on reality and on truth hasn't improved in the last 23 years.

I'll take the overwhelmingly positive feedback I get directly from my dealings with parents over your perceptions of whether or not they are 'right behind' Mr Gove.

If you want to find a profession the members of which are truly despised, then look no further than your own.

On that note, your new paper's next set of circulation figures on Merseyside should make interesting reading - certainly more so than whatever drivel you produce. Every word you utter has the opposite effect to that which you desire, because the whole country has now seen you exposed for what you are – a grubby little liar. The more you rail against people who are honest and hard-working in ways that are beyond your comprehension, the more public support for them will increase.

Anyway, must dash – lessons to prepare, essays to mark, revision sessions to plan, extra-curricular activities and educational visits to arrange, and all in my ‘holiday’ as well.

Justice for the 96.

Yours

they had some survey in the early/mid 90s about what the political voting pattern was for readers of the various newspapers: all of them pretty closely followed the demographic base within a couple of percent, even the f*cking S*n that "won basildon" etc., eith just ONE exception: daily telegraph: 70% tory voters

verdict: death

Winter is saying it was just a one-off, which is obviously f*cking ludicrous, and that the telegraph won't be using him again.

Rather humiliating, you'd have thought.

It's Friday. It's half five. It's Crackerjack!

Enjoy.
