Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21905407#asset Sami Hyypia on Liverpool, Benitez and coaching in GermanyUse accessible player and disable flyout menus Former Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia says life as a player is "easy" compared with his current role coaching German side Bayer Leverkusen. The Finn played for Leverkusen after leaving Liverpool in 2009, and moved into coaching the club last year - sharing duties with Sascha Lewandowski as Hyypia does not have his licence yet. The 39-year-old reflects on his time at Anfield with "joy" and says he learnt the most from former Reds manager Rafael Benitez.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I'm raging I missed this on Saturday cause Owen was on before him and there was a certain contrast between the 2 when they reflected on their time at Liverpool, will try get around to it when I get home from work.
Philby Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I wouldn't worry too much Rory. Sami is an absolute legend of a red but not the most enthralling interview you'd ever come across.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I wouldn't worry too much Rory. Sami is an absolute legend of a red but not the most enthralling interview you'd ever come across. Ok I'll still try get around to it tonight.

Foxtrot Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Yeah, lovely bloke but very much a Finn. And that amounts to what? Being a bit boring?
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 And that amounts to what? Being a bit boring? don't go on about it

Dmitch Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I was lead to belive the fins were nutters! Just ice cool
McBain Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) I watched Leverkusen against Gladbach last month on a trip to Cologne and Sami's team were outstanding. Pacy, inventive but needed leadership at the back and in the end it was a cracking 3-3 draw. All the way through it kept occuring to me they needed Sami to get his boots on Oh and Schurrle was head and shoulders above everyone else Edited March 29, 2013 by Clem
Falconhoof Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I was lead to belive the fins were nutters! Just ice coolWhat are all British people like ?

rednotdead Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Has now taken full control at Leverkusen My link Not forgetting that Bayer's sporting director Rudi Voller had this to say last month: "Sami has all the ingredients to become a great coach," Voller told Sky Deutschland when asked about first-year manager Sami Hyypia. "The only problem is that at some point he will go to Liverpool. This is his dream."
Tosh Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Make it so! Perhaps he could teach our back line - whoever that might be - how to defend
Bjarkinn Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1KIv6J36qE 0:36 What a touch by the big man
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 be interesting to see how he does in the Champions League.if he has a decent run, and we have a few bad results, there could be calls for him to come in before the end of next season.
Leo No.8 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Sami is such an immovable, iron character that its hard to imagine him having dreams. That he's made it clear that his dream is to manage Liverpool I find only makes me love him more. Genuinely one of my favourite players of all time. If only we had him now - we'd probably be in the CL.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Sami is such an immovable, iron character that its hard to imagine him having dreams. You reckon?I see him as quite a warm, friendly chap.
