Rory Fitzgerald Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) I didnt have time to put in time this week on Swansea so I dont have as many stats as the last few games Goals goals goals - the stats suggest you wont see many of them when Swansea are away ! Attack Swansea have something in common with QPR, Villa and Stoke - they have failed to score in 10 of their 26 games this season which is the worst record in the league. When they play away from home against the (current) Top 10 sides, they have failed to score in 4 of 5 games with goals being hard to come by in general i.e. For 2 / Against 4 in 5 games. On the road in recent games they haven't been prolific at all; West Ham 1-0 SwanseaSunderland 0-0 SwanseaArsenal 1-0 Swansea (FAC)Everton 0-0 Swansea Their recent away record is P6 W1 D3 L2. They scored 2 in those 6 games and conceded 3 so goals have been few and far between recently. However, just to give some balance, at home their games has seen 45 goals in 13 games which is the 4th highest i.e. goals scored & goals against. In those 13 games, they scored 26 goals which is the 5th highest (we have 22 in 13 home games)/ Defense They've the 4th best defensive record in the league, conceding 29 goals in 26 games. However, away from home they have the best defensive record with only 10 conceded in 13 games - here is the goal distribution; 5 games = none conceded6 games = 1 conceded2 games = 2 conceded. They haven't conceded 3 goals away from home this season. Overall In 13 away games this season in the league, Swansea's games have had the lowest amount of goals in the games with only 22 goals in those 13 games. Set pieces30 of their 38 goals this season have come from open play with only 1 from a corner, 6 from crosses and the other was a free-kick. Only 5 goals have been headers !! However, of the 29 goals conceded, 11 have been from headers so perhaps we can turn the tables on them and exploit an aerial weakness. We dont need a Carroll, just a good cross and some well timed arrivals. And finallyWe have all heard of our bad record against the Top 10 teams. Against the current crop in the Top 10, we have the 2nd worst record in the league at home to such teams. Its time to fucking batter these ! However, they will need to conceded alot more goals than normal away from home in order for this to happen........................ Edited February 14, 2013 by Rory Fitzgerald

Jaysus, at least Rodgers is earning a shedload for it being his fault - I'm now getting it in the neck and I can barely fund a pint
Cobs Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 oh for the days of Sion's match threads* *until he bottled it
Billy Dane Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 We should boycott Rory's thread and start up the people's thread of Judea instead.

realtarragona Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Think we'll win with Sturridge back in the side. Like to see Coutinho start as well considering a few could do with a rest.
Cobs Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 maybe shake it up a bit Reina Wisdom Skrtel Agger Johnson Lucas Gerrard Henderson Downing Suarez Sturridge

Maybe we give Coutinho, Assaidi or Suso a start

muleskinner Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Sturridge being out has had quite an incredible impact. im hoping the borini to fiorentina interest is genuine and we move on to someone else in the summer.
CarraLegend Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hopefully Sturridge, the Cout and Suarez front 3 fitness permitting. Let's maul these horrible c****.

Gomez Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I'm not at the point of not caring yet, but I don't think this is a 'must win' I think it's too late and I just can't get excited over the fight for 6th in mid-January. Monday was a must win, and we lost. I'd rest most of them, don't play anyone that will play Thursday and spend time preparing for Zenit, however given preparing for matches seems to be something we don't bother with, it's probably pointless even considering it.
