The kid deserved the kicking for not giving the ball back, then play acting in ridiculous fashion. Shocking behaviour.

It was worth it for all the phoney moral outrage in the match thread though.

Apparently, he wrote on twitter before the game:

“The king of all ball boys is back making his final appearance #needed #for #timewasting.”

Wasn't kicked hard enough.

This for me is part of killing my football love. That little punk should be flogged (the ballboy, not Hazard).

It was so obvious playacting that Drogba would have been proud and adopted the kid on the spot.

Too many moralists pointing the finger at bulls*** instead of speaking out about the more important things in football.

Probably be a 4 game ban - ie, the next 3 games + their next game v Man Utd :)

Oh, so now we want United to beat Chelsea?

apparently, this kid is the son of some mega rich Swansea executive and that's why he is allowed to be a ball man.

There's no excuse for Hazard's actions, but for this reason above I think there needs to be action against Swansea too. There's enough evidence, with the lad's tweets, and the deliberate timewasting on view.

That said, I can't believe the number of ex pro's banging on about the kid's disgraceful over acting. Where the f*** do they think he learnt that ?

Either Hazard was trying to kick the ball out from under the idiot (which I believe he was) or he was deliberately attacking the lad.

If it was the former even a red card and 3 game ban is harsh; if the latter he should be facing a ban of Cantonesque length.

If he was going for the ball boy then he deserves a shoeing cause he got the ball perfectly.

Is there really any doubt that he was going for the ball? He kicked it out from under the silly little berk and ran round to pick it up. The ball boy play acting has really dropped him in it, he hardly touched him and all the wincing and rolling about was absolute rubbish.

Sick of stuff Suarez does getting blown out of all proportion, think its a bit hypocritical if anyone wants Hazard hung drawn and quartered for this. He was daft doing what he did, and the ref was right to send him off; but the 3 match ban should stand as it is because there was no malice there and no real injury caused either.

The ball boy should never be allowed that role again either. It has obviously caused a big fuss but I think the whole thing was 80% down to the ball boy being a silly little lad, and 20% Hazard for taking the bait and reacting in a petulant rather than nasty way. No real harm done, everyone moves on.

Walked off the pitch holding his ribs with a grimace on his face. Deserves a slap the big fanny.

Dan, it highlighted the influence of the Premiership on the youth of today. The fella sat up and waved his hand at the referee - he actually thought he was part of the game. Hazard was naive but the guy thought he was more than he was. I refuse to use the word 'boy' - he wasnt a ballboy, he was 17 and knew exactly what he was doing and then indulged in the Premiership pen-pen of over acting.
