Rory Fitzgerald Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) No Suarez for us, no Carroll for them. West Ham almost 2/1 to win this with us favourites at 7/5. They are 3 points ahead of us in 8th and will go ahead of them with any kind of win given the goal difference. Reina Wisdom Skrtel Agger Johnson Lucas Allen Gerrard Sterling Shelvey Enrique 2 areas 1. Matt Jarvis is likely to start on the left side for them so that would pit him up against Wisdom. Wisdom is not the most adventurous of full-backs so there may be no harm having him on that side and remain disciplined. Let us go down our left and have Johnson and Enrique on that side. 2. Lucas vs Nolan. Nolan could be playing off Cole and he's scoring at a rate of 1 in 3 in the league. Ideal game that we need Lucas in for with that threat from deep. Whilst he is a great intercepter and tackler, he'll need to be tracking his runs. Hopefully Gerrard has his shooting boots on. Hit a few at Jaaskalinen and drill Shelvey to look for follow ups. richwilks Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 ReinaWisdom - Skrtel - Agger - JohnsonLucasAllen - GerrardSterling - Morgan - Enrique We'll win 2-0.
Toni Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Nolan is/was a massive LFC fan. He' s a liverpool lad. Cant beileve clubs make these gross mistakes of letting a player of that quality leave for free from the youth set-up. Think he s massively under-rated and can deliver at a big club.
doug_mac Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 i would go 3 at the back for this its fat sam so we know whats coming - balls hoofed at us from all angles all day, cole and nolan are good in the air thats why i would play an extra centre half also with suarez out i dont see the point of playing 433. a switch to 352 will get the job done in this one. ------------------------------------------------reina ---------------skrtel--------------------carra-----------------------agger johnson-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------enrique --------------------------lucas------------------allen ----------------------------------gerrard ---------------------------sterling------------shelvey this formation gives us the freedom of enrique and johnson bombing on to support sterling and shelvey when we have the ball and when we dont have the ball shelvey can drop back into midfield to give us an extra man i fancy us for the win here 2-1 with shelvey to score

I think his all round game is gash but he's a decent finisher and a massive pain in the ass.

Ref - Probert Assistants Beck and Child ( ran the line in the recent Utd match where Shelvey was sent off ) I like that line up but i'd have Sterling through the middle, Enrique and Johnson down the wings
Rory Fitzgerald Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 West Ham could line up like this - though Diame could get in there as well. How are these 3 points ahead of us ? They're only home defeat was Arsenal this season. This is gonna be a classic 'we'll dominate possession but won't be able to convert the chances'. Jaaskelainen Demel Collins Reid O'Brien Noble Tomkins O'Neil Nolan Jarvis Cole
Swipe Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Really awkward fixture this. Particularly without Luis.
DJS Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) 352 for me. Allen and Lucas protecting, Shelvey CM but with licence to push forward, Johnson and Enrique getting up to provide width and Gerrard just off Raheem. Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 uh oh - too many "we'll win" posts here for my liking

crisps Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Would be tempted to try Gerrard as the most forward player, almost striker, if anyone in the squad is capable it'd be Stevie, plus hardly set the world alight in Midfield this season so far.

Midfield have scored fewer goals than the defence
torn Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Shelvey will start up to. Sterling will get brutalised by that defence.
Falconhoof Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Sterling will get brutalised by that defence. he stands up to it though, never seen him bullied yet.
David Hodgson Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 We'll do these. I think we will. There seems to be this stupid (wider footballing public) perception that we're a team that's wobbling whereas the 'appy 'ammers are flying. Our players are all far superior to theirs and we are in quite a good (cough) moment. At the moment.

épieur Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 This has the makings of another winless fixture.
lfc003 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 ------------- Pepe -----------Glen Skrtel Agger Jose------- Lucas Leiva ---------- Joe Allen - Stevie ----- Sterling - Jonjo - Suso

Think there's a chance if we have Sterling through the middle and will pull their defence around before slipping him through. Enrique should have a fair amount of joy, too, but as seen against Udine, it's the final pass or killer instinct that is lacking Interesting to see how the first team plays without Suarez.
