Molby Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 let's move on here's a theme to underpin this one, and the whole season: at what point/under what circumstances does the manager risk undermining the project in order to try and win the game that's in front of him?
Knox_Harrington Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 at what point/under what circumstances does the manager risk undermining the project in order to try and win the game that's in front of him?Sunday 28th October 2:15pm.
Earl Hafler Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Sunday 28th October 2:15pm. Before kick off ? Prepped the team, got the gameplan down.
fred milne Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 You have to assume that it will be the same team that started the derby unless Reina is fit again.
muleskinner Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Has to be, nobody played there way in last night.
Conrad Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Sunday 28th October 2:15pm. correct, and then the following weekend and so on
Swan Red Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Has to be, nobody played there way in last night. Henderson last night or Wisdom against Everton
muleskinner Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Henderson last night or Wisdom against Evertonhmm, forgot about that. Who is down their left? Long hair beard chap?
Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 You have to assume that it will be the same team that started the derby unless Reina is fit again. And Johnson. We really only have 1 area of the team that is up for debate (Shelvey vs Sahin) and possibly a 2nd with Suso & Assaidi
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Pepe back in goal? 4-3 I reckon (to us)
smithdown Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Sunday 28th October 2:15pm. is right like Ali in Zaire we're gonna dance, we're gonna dance, we're gonna dance
Wunderbar Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Not won against a decent team this season. Need to improve massively.
CarraLegend Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Not won against a decent team this season. Need to improve massively. Nah. The officiating of our matches needs to improve massively.
Chewie Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I think both points are correct. We need to, and I believe can, improve and yes it'd be helpful if officiating improves. We can't control the latter however and need to really press forward with what we can control. We can become stronger and I think we will..but we do need to prove it
stressederic Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I think Assaidi has done enough to get a start instead of Suso recently. Suso has got loads of promise but I feel he's been drifting in games a bit too much recently.
Billy Dane Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I think both points are correct. We need to, and I believe can, improve and yes it'd be helpful if officiating improves. We can't control the latter however and need to really press forward with what we can control. We can become stronger and I think we will..but we do need to prove it Absolutely, improve on what we can control and stop whining about things beyond our control.
growler Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 We are on a mini run in the league. I would be happy with a 1-0.
Molby Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 I'm looking for an immediate return to our what I think BR's beliefs are we need to keep the ball much better to do this, we need to move for each other with the same work ethic and belief that it's the right thing to do, all over the pitch - not slow down when we reach their area or settle for a hoof from the back - massive self belief needed from BR now. Apart from his innate ability, self belief is his best weapon (it sure as hell isn't off-field support of any description)
Knox_Harrington Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 It's a game we should win. I'd be tempted to go three at the back. Regardless I'd start Gerrard where Suso has been. I'd probably also rest Sahin. Manager has a lot of options.
David Hodgson Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 It's a game we should win. I'd be tempted to go three at the back. Regardless I'd start Gerrard where Suso has been. I'd probably also rest Sahin. Manager has a lot of options. My worry is the teams we put out for the Angie/Chelsea double header next week. We put out a sh*t team in Russia and we will get beat. Then again, we play full strength and we will look leggy at Chelsea on Sunday. Tough calls these for BR.
smithdown Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 We won't take the first team out there, no chance.
growler Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Newcastle and Chelsea games matter this week. Anzhi will be kids and maybe Joe cole and downing in the hope we leave them there.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Anzhi away was the 1 cert from the 6-in-18 that we're using a weakened team. Get the squad on a jet Sunday evening and fly to Russia via Egypt. Drop the first team off at some resort and send Cole, Downing et al onwards and we can pick up the real players on the way back Thursday night.
