carrafan Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 "I feel I belong here and as long as the manager and the owners want me, I'll be here." You don't get to hear that from top class players often, especially at a club thats underachieving. Fantastic news.
vish Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Bet they asked him to wear a long sleeve shirt & he told them to f*** off
schmuckdonald Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 s****. Was really looking forward to us being in the black next year after selling him to City. Good news.
The_Adder Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 But but but what about the wage bill?!?! AWESOME NEWS
Case Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Magnificent player, great news. Deserves a big 'Up' on Sunday.
Beardsley Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Also saying he's loosing his consentration when we sing his song, so we better stop doing that or else we'll continue conceding stupid goals.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 the fact that he doesn't wear the number 6 sickens me.so I'll be glad when he's gone.
oran Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 great news. How refreshing seeing a player making those comments..And you know he means it as he showed in the summer.
Leo No.8 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Great news, great player, great lad. It's all good.
Eiler99 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Danish media (EB.dk) saying he's now the club's top earner alongside Gerrard.
muleskinner Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Danish media (EB.dk) saying he's now the club's top earner alongside Gerrard.north of 120k+a week then?
Conrad Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 excellent news, and since I was quick to question FSG over this in the summer, I guess I should acknowledge they've done the right thing here
Leo No.8 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 north of 120k+a week then? Not a chance he's on anything like that, or anything like what Gerrard is on. Danish media are talking out of their collective hole. £75k was reported which looks exactly right - Gerrard will be on £120k or around there.

Johnson is supposedly on similar, Agger was subject of big money interest from a club who would likely put him on decently more than that, he is one of the most important and best players at the club, it would be poor work by his advisors not to get him somewhere near that in my opinion

And how many centre halves in the world (not at man city) are on over £100k a week? A handful I reckon, Ferdinand and Terry only in English football partly due to their home nation status. Think it'll be much less than that - this position on the field doesn't attract huge money and he is injury prone. I'm glad we've signed him up but I'd be a bit shocked if he was on £100k a week plus.

Good centre halves go for big money and get it as clubs are loathe to let them go. I'd be guessing completely on Vidic, but the Johnson one I've never seen contradicted, part of the big inflation in the wage bill we had the year he joined. We are one of four clubs who pay over 100k a week, Agger has been here 6 years plus, this is likely his second or third contract renewal, I see more in favour of it being north than south.
