Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 The following game in the league is home to Stoke on Sunday at 3pm. Do we rest Suso and Sahin along with the rest ? .......................Jones Wisdom Carra Coates Robinson .........Shelvey Henderson .................Pacheco Downing Borini Assaidi
Falconhoof Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Wisdom can't 3 games in a week can he ?, it's a difficult one. Is Flanagan fit ?I'd be resting Suso and sahin from the starting line up.
CarraLegend Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I'd go pretty strong, maybe just leave out Agger, Glen and Gerrard. Good chance to nearly secure qualification.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 I'd go pretty strong, maybe just leave out Agger, Glen and Gerrard. Good chance to nearly secure qualification. With 2 home games, we could do that i.e. Udinese and Stoke. As was mentioned before, the away win at Young Boys means that if we can win our home games, we can qualify. After this game, its the last time we play at home after a Europea Lge game
Dan Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Jones, Wisdom, Carra, Coates, Robinson, Hendo, Shelvey, Sahin, Downing, Borini, Assaidi. Suso, Sterling, Suarez, Pacheco, Skrtel, Enrique & Allen on the bench.
DJS Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Jones, Wisdom, Carra, Coates, Robinson, Hendo, Shelvey, Sahin, Downing, Borini, Assaidi. Suso, Sterling, Suarez, Pacheco, Skrtel, Enrique & Allen on the bench. No way, never again.
Dan Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 No way, never again. He needs to do something for his £80k a week.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 No way, never again. Joe Cole is due back soon, it'll be great seeing us rest Suso, Sterling & Shelvey for the league and sending those lads out
lfc003 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 ------------------Jones----------------Wisdom Carra Coates Enrique------------- Henderson ----------------- Shelvey -------- Allen --------- Downing -- Borini -- Assiadi -- Subs: Gulasci, Skrtel, Robinson, Pacheco, Sterling, Suso, Sahin
DJS Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 He needs to do something for his £80k a week. The best contribution he can make is staying the feck away from the first team. Seriously, it's like playing with 10 men.
Maldini Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Wisdom's a beast, I'm sure he'll have no problem with 3 games in a week. McLaughlin is very very good though, Rodgers seems to like him too.
RedMersey Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 JonesMcLaughlin, Coates, Carra, RobinsonHenderson, SahinShelveyPacheco, Borini, Assaidi Don't want to see Downing anywhere near the team.
Gunga Din Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Wisdom's a beast, I'm sure he'll have no problem with 3 games in a week. McLaughlin is very very good though, Rodgers seems to like him too. McLaughlin could be the first player from the wee 6 to play for us since Elisha Scott in 1934
DJS Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Udinese's start to the season has been very similar to ours, in terms of point accumulation. In six league games, they have won just once, drawn three and lost two. They've scored 6 goals, conceded 9 and currently sit in 15th place in Serie A. Despite the poor start, they are now on a four-game unbeaten run having produced a win and three draws in the four games since they lost their opening two. On the flip side, they have failed to score in their last two games, both ending in goalless draws. Also in a very similar way to us, they have had tough early fixtures and their two defeats have come away at Fiorentina (courtesy of a last minute winner) and at home to champions Juventus. Their only win came at home to AC Milan. They are in the Europa League due to losing their Champions League playoff tie against Braga on penalties, after drawing both legs 1-1. Their biggest goalscoring threat is Italian international Antonio Di Natale, who has scored two league goals this season so far, and three in all competitions from six appearances, continuing from last season when he scored 23 league goals and 29 in all competions. Their opening six league results have been as follows: Fiorentina 2-1 Udinese Udinese 1-4 Juventus Siena 2-2 Udinese Udinese 2-1 Milan Torino 0-0 Udinese Udinese 0-0 Genoa
Billy Dane Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 He needs to do something for his £80k a week. He can take the kit home and wash it.

DJS Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) JonesWisdom Carra Coates JoseHendo SahinDowns Pacheco SusoBorini I like that team, apart from downing. I'd also find a way of putting shelvey in, since he cant play in the league until late October. Edited September 30, 2012 by DJS
Gunga Din Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I like that team, apart from downing. I'd also find a way of putting shelvey in, since he cant play in the league until late October. aye, shelvey a cert to start this. Midfield 3 of Shelvey, Henderson and sahin for 45 and Allen for 45
DJS Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Quick question re Suso and Pacheco....can either of them actually play as one of the wide forwards and be comfortable enough to make a positive impact in that kind of position?
Mike Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Quick question re Suso and Pacheco....can either of them actually play as one of the wide forwards and be comfortable enough to make a positive impact in that kind of position? You mean where both of them have played in the last two games?
DJS Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 You mean where both of them have played in the last two games? Ah, well two games proves it then! I obviously meant on a consistent basis, rather than just once or twice. And i must have missed Pacheco at Carrow Road, where did he play?
Logic Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 If true about Downing being last in - first out when it comes to training the same should apply about him getting in the team. He should only play if we have no one else to fill the required role. And we have a bunch of exciting youngsters coming through the ranks meaning Downing shouldn't start this game. So Epic Swindle's team and switching Downing for Jonjo/Cole/Ngoo/Morgan/etc and shift players around as needed in the 4-3-3.
schmuckdonald Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Udinese are in transition like us and used ressies against Anzhi. They've sold off most of their bigger players and are trying to bring through new lads. Should be a good game, looking forward to it.
épieur Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Udinese are always in transition. It's their economic model. They have something like 50 players on their books, most of them on loan developing elsewhere. Their are the true proponents of moneyball in football. It would be interesting to see if it could work for a non-selling club.
