He did, loads of gesturing and pointing. Quite capable of putting hs foot on the ball rather than panicking like the hot headed blert in our other full back berth.

He's a quality young player , another of the ever growing group that are pushing their way through .

 

Wisdom just like Kelly has the ability to play at right back or centre back , both have the ability to drive forward with the ball , both are excellent headers of the ball .

 

Add to those two Coates and we are looking really well stocked for the furture defense , if only we could find a left footed version we would be sorted .

Does he have the nous to play in front of our defence? If he does, it'll allow us to free Gerrard/Sahin on to a more advanced role till Lucas is back and match fit.

He's played CM for England youths, played RM for our 18s as well. I think we need to get him out on loan though, can't see where he gets a game when everyone's fit

Hmmm...I think the ceiling is a lot higher for him at CB. I'm not sure he's good enough going forward at RB to be a really top class player, maybe that side will develop if he plays there more though.

Yeah, he has tons of ability, looks a bit awkward at RB at the moment but then so does Kelly and he's had a lot more time playing there.

I thought he looked good but I wouldn't say as comfortable as Glen Johnson which is about the level of attacking ability you need as a modern fullback

Very good tonight. very composed. the player I had the most confidence in at defence as the game progressed.

I would have liked to see him supporting the attack more but I undrestand why he didnt.

Bit worried about Coates. Slow and always has a clumsy moment in him. Though I've also seen him be very good.
