Anyone a little concerned at his showings so far? £11m is a lot of money and I'm not sure what he does exceptionally well to be honest. Pulled out of a couple of 50/50 tackles against Arsenal too which is a bad sign.

Very early days of course, but a little worried as to whether he's going to cut it anytime soon. He's not the dynamo that I expected, seems to lack an edge so far. Looks a bit pedestrian - not writing the lad off if course, just an observation on his early showings.

He's only young and has plenty of time to turn it around, but it looks like he's one that'll need time to adjust to Premier League football - which surprises me as he's spent his formative years in England,

Just mentioned this in a different thread, but I think he's struggling not being central - looks to me like he spends a lot of time trying to make sure he doesn't get caught out of position defensively. I think 2-3 games on the bounce with him in the middle of a front 3 will see him get more comfortable and improve quickly. He may not be our best bet for a CF forever, but right now I think he is.

I imagine he never thought he'd a first team starter straight away after his move and the pace of the PL has come as a bit of a shock.

I don't see him being a player who leads the line, more likely a player who is best off the shoulder of another forward.

For me, he is too small and too lightweight to be an effective forward on his own.

He looked much much much better through the middle, and his movement was very good.

Keep that front three as they, and I'll be pretty happy.

Not that we have much option, eh John Henry?

Not at all, love his movement. And he's not long turned 21.

What will hurt him though is that he is considered our ONLY true atacking option, and if he does not deliver, he'll be labelled as a failure.

He needs time at his age, but he's not going to get any between now and the next window.

We paid 11m for him.. He should be atleast showing something to suggest he is more than a potential

after the Carroll for 35 million debacle, anything we pay for a player should mean nothing when it comes to judging their abilitiies.

logic suggests that Borini should be less than a third the player that Carroll was.

Might be nice to give him more than 4 league games aswell.

A17 year old needed just 1 game. of course it stll early days but you look for qualities which could make a difference. And he works hard but we need finishers. however its not his fault we havent got

any decent 20+ goalscorer up front.

His movement is good, but his touch is often a bit poor. Neither particularly quick nor slow... Think he's been a bit unlucky not to score in the league. Has had a few good chances, and most of the time has hit the target and had keeper make decent saves.

Yep and others need more time. Borini hopefully is one who improves with more games.

However, the BIG problem for players like Borini is that we don't have the time to give him to get settled in to the team.

Mid table mediocrity will be all we can hope for if Borini and co don't start scoring some goals and earning some wins.

I don't think it's fair to negatively judge any of the new lads so early because the team as a whole are trying to settle into the managers new style

Downing is f***ing s**** though

It probably isn't fair, but it's going to happen when we have 2 points out of 12 and 3 goals scored in 4 games.

As they settle in, we are way off the pace.

I'd prefer to see him in the middle. Doesn't really do anything out wide. His touch may be more assured than Dirk's, but he is showing none of the guile Dirk had.

I'd also prefer Suarez out wide, to get him away from being the one on the end of most of our chances and get him into more positions to take on a man and create something.

Rodgers seems pretty determined about playing Suarez centrally though.

Much better last night playing down the middle. Needs a goal, he's got at least 4 months of noone competing for his place, so should be able to relax and have a go.

Had we brought in another striker or two, like we should have, we could be patient with Borini and he could settle in. Its a bit unfair for a 21 year old to be thrown in as an automatic starter. Does need to start showing more, as he is unfortunately one of only 2 strikers we have.

Surprised we play him on the right and Suarez central. Would be good to get some insight into that.

Rodgers has talked about that. In the interview he gave recently, I think.
