Kahnee Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Starting the season off with Lawro on Football Focus. So far he's said our yellow 80s kit was the worst he ever saw, and that "we're" not sure about Borini, but depends on how he links up with Suarez. No mention of the fact we're favouring a front 3 (can see this being a problem for Ol' Sad Eyes), the fact Rodgers has worked with him before... The Olympics really did spoil us
Kahnee Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 Peter Reid reckoning Wilshire will be a big boost for Arsenal this season, pulling the strings in the middle of the park. Nice to see he did his research there...
stressederic Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Is Wilshere actually going to make it back at all? His return date seems to be forever being pushed down the calendar.
Kahnee Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 Is Wilshere actually going to make it back at all? His return date seems to be forever being pushed down the calendar. Growing rumours that he is finished. Arsenal haven't been totally honest about what actual injury is, allegedly, and walking is gonna be a challenge for the lad - never mind actually playing.
Snookie Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Richard Lenton on Mio Stadium takes some beating. He wears a cravat and looks like he's hoping to get a role in a chop suey, Bond knock-off.

Snookie Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Clearly an upgrade - two in fact - on Reid and Lawro They look like extras from 'attack of the anorexic bikini babes'. He also doubles as the punk golfing commentator and does a show with Steve McMahon. He's the scientist. McMahon is the artist....
stressederic Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Interestingly the guest patients on the 'Sky Sports home for the Mentally Incapable' are taking a similar line regarding how Mcleish did at Aston Villa to how Hodgson did for us. They're using terms like 'perceived to have failed' and how the fans 'right from the beginning weren't interested in what he'd do which makes things difficult'. No real acknowledgement of how he nearly got them relegated.
Cam Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 MotD are using a main team this season of Hansen, Shearer, Mick McCarthy and 'Arry Redknapp. Lawrenson will only appear occasionally - obviously great news. Seemingly he's been relegated to appear alongside the deadwood likes of Crooks, Bright & Savage. However... 'Arry. FFS.

Watched a Dutch (I think) stream for the match - coverage was genius. Couldn't understand the commentary, which was ace, but in the studio was Ray Wilkins and three 'local' lads. Wilkins said West Brom were good value for their lead and Suarez was no good up front as he was just static waiting for crosses Dutch pundit 1 responded: "I disagree with you Ray, and I'll tell you why. If you look at the possession stats, Liverpool have had more of the ball..." He then proceeded to engage in a conversation about the game - in Dutch. Leaving Wilkins sitting there like the spare wheel on a date
carrafan Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Shebby Singh get the DoF job at Blackburn's a laugh. He's proper thick.
schmuckdonald Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Looking forward to MOTD and Sunday Supplement tomorrow.
Kahnee Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 MOTD with Harry? Nah... Gonna be twiffic Moving the studio to a layby will be a bit of an a***, but the cost will be off-set by the car manufacturer's sponsorship
Swipe Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Hansen on MOTD really is phoning it in these days.
Dan Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 @sidlowe: Rt "@TSFGuardian: Alan Hanson stuck in stone age, telling Lvrpl to #justhoofit. Im sure he jst used to pass it back to keepr all afternoon."
schmuckdonald Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Owen coming across an absolute pillock on Goals of Sunday.

Leaving Wilkins sitting there like the spare wheel on a date did the Wilkins enthuse about Joe Allen's record-breaking number of backward passes completed?
Stevie H Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Owen coming across an absolute pillock on Goals of Sunday.oh is that what he's up to now? got to pay for them horses somehow.
schmuckdonald Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 oh is that what he's up to now? got to pay for them horses somehow. Nah, was just a guest fortunately.
Kahnee Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 did the Wilkins enthuse about Joe Allen's record-breaking number of backward passes completed? Too busy being wrong about Suarez
Stevie H Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 hansen's actually quite embarrassing these days. could have a piece of software randomly generating his growled clichés. that he says them with a passionate scots burr doesn't make them any less tedious.
Boca Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Co-commentator on sky for the Wigan-Chelsea game (may have been Alan Smith but not sure) was appalled at the treatment Wigan were dishing out to "the little Frenchman" Eden Hazard
Snookie Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Had the pleasure of watching Peter Reid & Andy Townsend do the analysis last night. The former doesn't offer much insight and he looked like he hadn't bothered to shave his ears but he always comes across as a decent guy. The latter is a whole other barrel of s****. His inability to form a coherent, grammatically correct sentence on a regular basis and his tendency to punctuate his banal observations with mumbled grunts and head-shakes is really annoying. At least Richard Lenton wasn't presenting.

Can't wait for Pleat to have a go.
