floyd the barber Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Now of course I don't see him training every day!Still after his decent performances on the American tour,I'm surprised he seems to have been cast aside the past 3 games. He looks perfect for the Rodgers system yet hasn't even been on the bench since.I really rate him and it looks like he's stronger and could definetly work in a front 3...anyway thoughts ???
goodrobotusses Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I think the fact he wasn't a regular at Norwich and barely got a look in at Rayo Vallecano (a club that can barely afford a first XI, nevermind a squad) speaks volumes. Seems a lovely lad, but needs to move on.
johngibo YPC Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Now he is behind Suso and Sterling there is no point him being here

Disclaimer: I suport Rodgers and I like what I see so far and this is no critisism of him ! Edited August 13, 2012 by oran
Chili Palmer Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Pacheco is no good mate didnt you get the memo?the fact that he looked better then Cole in pre season means nothing as he wasnt playing for Rayo last season.. tbf I'm better than Cole atm but I shouldn't be anywhere near the first team squad. Reserves, maybe...
Knox_Harrington Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Pacheco is no good mate didnt you get the memo?the fact that he looked better then Cole in pre season means nothing as he wasnt playing for Rayo last season..Suspect we'd love to get shut of Cole. More so than Pacheco.

oran Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Don't be a dick eh, it's quite possible for neither of them to be good enoughIm not saying he is good enough btw.but he looked "less bad" then others yet they play and he doesnt.
Swan Red Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Im not saying he is good enough btw.but he looked "less bad" then others yet they play and he doesnt. Cole's out injured anyway and I'm not getting into the argument of Downing v Pacheco because I think you're wrong and it's pointless. I don't know who else you think he's better than.

I don't know who else you think he's better than. If we take yesterdays game as an example, there isn't one spot in the 11 or bench that Pacheco could have taken. Then we have Borini and Allen to come in.
oran Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 (edited) he is better then Cole who I think is finished as a premier league player. and its too bad as he could have been good for us and he seems like a good guy.and I think he maybe better then Downing atm, because he has very bad mentality on the pitch (he does look better these last two games, although he still far from good). he had a place on the bench yesterday Chili. we played Shelvey for 90 minutes, 45 of them on the wing which he isnt suited for. oran Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 What do you think that means?that Rodgers really really doesnt rate him.

Joe Cole wont be starting though so thats not much of a compliment. And I dont think it's true anyway, last season one was having an ok season and ended up loved by Lille fans, the other was sitting on his a*** not deemed good enough for one start. Downing is miles better than Pacheco.
oran Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I dont know how good Cole was in france. I know how he looked before for us and how he looked pre season. I wish he will come good but he looked very much out of shape this pre season.Downing has a lot of good qualities but he doesnt really use them. he is predictable and he can barely go past defenders ( at least now he is trying and that wasnt the case last season). but he is working hard on the pitch and we can only hope he improves because eventhough I think he is a very average player he is better then what he is showing. and the fact Pacheco wasnt playing for Rayo doesnt matter much to me. I dont know who is their manager and why he didnt play him. Insua didnt play for Galatasaray but by all acounts he is a very very good player for Sporting.
Swipe Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 We should just sell Pacheco. He's got no chance of making it here. Not one LFC manager in his time here has deemed him good enough to give him a shot.

Insua didnt play for Galatasaray but by all acounts he is a very very good player for Sporting.Galatasaray are a lot bigger and richer club with a much bigger squad. Besides, Insua was playing for them until Hagi took over and implemented a 'no loan players' policy.
oran Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 my point was we dont know why Rayo didnt play him. west ham didnt play mascherano. I know there were issues with his contract. who knows what went on in Rayo.I just dont think thats a reason to knock the player.
CarraLegend Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 my point was we dont know why Rayo didnt play him. It was because he's s***.

In the absence of any other viable suggestions, I think the simplest thing to conlcude is that he didn't get picked because he isn't really that good. I'll happily re-appraise my position if and when some other evidence comes to light but until then - and given all the other managers who don't pick him either - I'll stick with 'He isn't really that good'.
