Suspect In Pursuit Decapitated

 

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a bizarre death following a high speed chase in southeast Nebraska.

 

Troopers are investigating whether the suspect tied something around his neck, attached it to a side mirror, and then jumped from the moving vehicle.

 

Sources tell Channel 6 News that pursuing officers thought the man had fled on foot after driving into a bean field. The sources add that the suspect's body was later found, decapitated, in the field by a tow truck driver.

 

The pursuit happened Monday night in Richardson and Pawnee counties, which are about two hours south of Omaha.

 

A spokesperson for the Nebraska State Patrol tells Channel 6 News that they are gathering information from the Richardson County Attorney and are not yet releasing any other details.
