There’s been a bit of chat on the YouTube sphere about redeveloping the SKD stand recently. Talk of the utting ave station thing, buying up Skerries and Wylfa roads and building new houses on the Vernon sangster site. It seems to just be one guy saying it so he could very well be making it all up. But anyway. Discuss!

Redeveloping already? Not much fututeproofing in that scheme if so.

building houses on the VS site is a terrible misallocation in the scheme of a regeneration project

what’s needed is infrastructure not more Noddy houses

and a resi scheme on that site would make the club a couple of million quid - chump change

instead, the club could throw a few quid at building things that make neighbourhoods decent places to live and then let local operators run them (everything from a youth club to the new Hooters, but not another s*** social housing scheme)

What do you mean? The building of it 30 odd years ago? It’s great in many ways but was thrown up on the cheap and definitely needs re doing at some point.

I reckon goodison would make a great car park, fan area and staging area for buses etc. surely council will help with that. It’s a derelict, condemned building…

for our costs, we’ll have cl revenue from new structure and commercial rewards for title. Not to mention adidas next season. You’d think someone would have worked out a commercial share, given they’ll have title winner shirts in their first season with us.

I think financially makes sense for us to buy before June 30 I think (financial accounting) and then sell after, given revenue goes straight into our books.

The lads on Skyscraper City (an architectural type forum) think its completely made up and the Youtuber concerned (Greybeard Media) is doing it for clicks. He doesn't seem that type based on his videos, but the internet is a mad place so who knows.

I think the station part could have something in it, but it'd depend on 120m+ of investment from somewhere and Rotherham's track record isn't exactly stellar.

On the same forum but in a different thread there was one poster saying the club has been buying up houses on Skerries, but a more credible poster who says he owns one says he's heard nothing at all.

The majority view is that the new houses thing is total nonsense, they've been trying to attract developers for the Vernon Sangster site for years but no-one is interested. Maybe if the station gets done it becomes more likely.

I think it all depends on transport, so that station at Utting Avenue is the key. If something happens there, we might hear something about the SKD or the Kop.

Does it say that wages are up? I read somewhere that general match day costs are up significantly

Well we had the delays, staggered opening and actual opening of new stand.

Saw Rotherham on the regional news last night. The state of him. Big dopey scruff. How is he an elected leader ?

Honestly I can’t stand it whenever he appears on things. Absolutely embarrassing to look at and listen to. May as well have elected Stan Boardman.

I’ll never not see him clapping like a d****ead as that kid was being slung out.  Clap clap clap clap clap clap he went.  Like a c***.  Think even Stan boardman would have jogged in and said behave

Didn't we take a lot of the project management of the build in-house after the construction company building the stand went bust? I wonder if that might explain some of it.
