Laptop dilema

Okay time to buy a new laptop, my old one is hanging on by a thread, literally in the case of the screen.

 

I want as good a spec as you can get for about £500 or less.

 

Spotted this one Samsung RF511 - http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-rf511-15-6-laptop-silver-11884749-pdt.html £599 but £499 after vat redemption Samsung have going on at the mo. Also eligible for the shops promo of £10 off for each going England score at the Euros ( i just know Hodgeson is gonna f*** me over on that )

 

Went to check it out in the shop and the guy also suggested this Sony one - http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/sony-vpceh3n6e-w-cek-15-5-laptop-white-11884770-pdt.html reduced from £649 to £499 although cant find that many reviews of it.

 

Anyone know of anything similar that i'm missing out on, need good build quality, fast, as uptodate as possible with the budget i have....all thoughts will be welcomed, thanks.
