Cobs Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 sickening corruption. The Telegraph has always been like that
Billy Dane Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 United, for example, had 59.3 per cent of incorrect decisions go against them; City had 73.7 per cent of incorrect calls go against them. But apparently it's harder on United because it meant they lost more points, as opposed to City made sure they scored enough goals to render the incorrect decisions less meaningful. The things you can do with statistics eh.
Cobs Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 unless they're prepared to release details of the incidents which they claim have gone for and against then it's a load of bolllocks
Falconhoof Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Where has this research been conducted . Just skimmed through but I can't see in the article any details about the people involved in the survey, the precise methods used or anything like that.
surf Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 getting dodgy penalties at 0-0 doesnt count towards "good luck" when you win 2-0, but obviously changes the game massively. united have had quite a few of those
AE Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Second table is interesting.obviously we are the most put upon club in the country
Ed the Wool Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 See he's saying the City crowd will 'put the referee under a lot of pressure' on Sunday.
DJS Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 unless they're prepared to release details of the incidents which they claim have gone for and against then it's a load of bolllocks Here it is: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/9259700/Revealed-the-decisions-that-cost-Manchester-United-the-title-and-handed-the-Premier-League-to-City.html Just reading their reasoning for the Wigan v Man Utd game already raises an eyebrow. They point to Welbeck apparently being fouled in the box, but United not getting a peno. And they refer to Figueroa's handball in the box which again didnt see United get a penalty. They manage to forget, intentionally or not, the fact that Wigan had a perfectly good goal ruled out.

A foul by Jose Bosingwa on the United winger waved away in a match when United came back from 3-0 down thanks to two penalties converted by Wayne Rooney. This study assumes he would have completed the hat-trick. United denied 2 points they should have had well, if they're not going to count the united dives for the penalties i can see how you'd reach this conclusion. alternatively: chelsea 3 - united 1
Billy Dane Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Big assumption that all penalties awarded following reversal of decisions would have been converted as well. Still as long as it shows that United have been robbed alls well yeah.

And a Utd player (Evans?) not red carded? This is all before we get to Ashley Youngs cheating in recent weeks. Hopefully City win the title on goal difference and we'll all know the difference is when those c**** got the mother of a humping on their own pitch. 6-1

Mancini walked under a ladder in training this week? Black cat seen at the Etihad in QPR scarf? Solitary magpie lands on pitch ? Ferguson to wear lucky piss-stained underpants on Sunday?

Ffs. They're in a last day shoot-out for the title with their city rivals and half that bleedin' article is about us ? Shower of c**** the lot of them. Edited May 11, 2012 by dorgie
Guy_Incognito Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Like the way that article implies that we give out as much munich abuse as they give out to us, when in my experience of games (at the theatre of prawns and anfield) it's anything but. Also no mention of the amount of abuse about Hillsborough they give out also. c****.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Big assumption that all penalties awarded following reversal of decisions would have been converted as well. Still as long as it shows that United have been robbed alls well yeah.it also assumes, no? that the rest of the games are unchanged after correcting these decisions... but they're not, you restart from the centre circle rather than a GK for example, substitutions differ, everything changes The mancs could have gone on to lose 6-4 to Chelsea in that game
dorgie Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 The Danny Murphy 'no penalty' is the one that sticks in my craw the most. The f***ing referee was looking right at it, clearly knew the consequences of giving it so decided against it. Pricks.
