Molby Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I get the feeling there's been a dip in demand for tickets; kinda obvious I guess but I'm a bit baffled by the ups and downs of ticket demand these days eg a few years ago if someone said "I feel like giving my ST back" then loads on here would have replied with "I'll have it" not any more, I bet nobody on here would even take a ST if it were offered and it seems you can get tickets for virtually every game, except the big 4 or 5, and then they're like gold dust, whereas it used to be more consistent. Using this forum as an example, even the ticket forum seems much more subdued than it used to be is this down to recession or disillusionment or what?
Billy Dane Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Might be a dip in recent years, but it was relatively easy to get in to game in the 70's and 80's - loads of games back then that weren't sold out. Recently think the dip is a result of the cost of tickets, belt tightening and poor performances.

CarraLegend Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Prices keep going up while peoples wages dont, the s***ness of the team etc etc all contribute. I've never found it hard to get tickets at Anfield though, its easy with a bit of effort. Not going anymore as I'm saving for something and cant afford both.

Sion Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I've spent a fortune this season. Absolute small fortune, following this club. How do they reward me? Lose out in the ballot for both finals. Don't know why I bother.
CarraLegend Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 what? sex change? struggling to think of anything more important than a ST - sex change maybe, as it's a game-changer is it a sex change btw? Hahahaha. Thats personal.
Molby Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 Hahahaha. Thats personal. why? tell us better not be a loft conversion or something
Cam Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Football's just sh*t. The whole game, i mean. Us being crap doesn't help. But where's the fun, enjoyment, tribalism, community-spirit, pride, talent, p*ss-taking, atmosphere, glory and hope? Buried beneath greed, corruption, lack of effort, petty point-scoring, mocking, 'banta', inadequacy, lies and scum.
CarraLegend Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 why? tell us better not be a loft conversion or something Nah f*** that. I'd rather let it clutter. I wanna go and see the world before I get old and boring.
NeilJ Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 My appetite for goin' on Tuesday reminds me of the time I was served a plate of pigs' ears in Galicia
Nebraska Red Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 when their is passion and desire on the pitch, you will see passion and desire from the fans. too many times this season we have seen insipid and timid performances from our teams. the atmosphere at home games has been dire at times and no wonder. I don't get upset these days if we lose or draw, I don't even care if a game is missed due to something else going on. the players don't seem to give a f***ing toss and it's no surprise that fans/supporters will feel the same way.
dorgie Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I go over 3 or 4 times a season from Ireland. Always pick the 'lesser' games as it's easier to get a ticket. Bring the 2 kids to one or two of them each season (all 3 of us buy membership each season to help get tickets). Last 4 games I went to : May : 0-2 v SpursNov : 0-0 v SwanseaFeb : 0-0 v SpursApr : 0-1 v WBA Haven't even seen us score a goal. Bloody expensive 'n all. Still, there's something special about Anfield. Still get a buzz when the cab turns up Breck Road and you see the roof of the Kop. Love going.

You sound like a glory supporter
Falconhoof Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 You sound like a glory supporter We all are to some extent. We wouldnt all be following a conference side that had never won any silverware.
Nebraska Red Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 You sound like a glory supporter I'm 53 on thursday, went to my first game at 4 yo,got a season ticket when I was 14 and never missed a game until I moved over here. Liverpool FC was the most importnat thing in my life for almost 30 years. My passion for the game has been stretched to its limits this season.
Dan Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 We all are to some extent. We wouldnt all be following a conference side that had never won any silverware. Varying degrees i suppose if you really want to break it down. He's just sounds like he's got a titty lip on. No tiity lip, just sick of watching so many abjectly s**** displays from my team this season and the previous few seasons. I hate the fact that I don't get pissed off any more if we fail to win. A few years back, i'd have been a miserable cvnt for weeks if we lost a cup final, now I'm not.

Nebraska Red Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 You sure? smart ass. you made me laugh. of course, I meant miserable at home. if we lose , i will always be a miserable **** on here.
Gunga Din Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 i think its plain and simply down to cost. If we are challenging at the top of the league, then more people can justify perhaps missing out on something else to go the game. but with a match ticket costing close to £50, by the time you drive to the game, park up etc, you are looking at a minimum of £60 before you see a ball kicked, which is a huge amount out of many peoples budgets at a time when prices are going up and wages arent. Also, pretty much every game is on the telly, internet streamings are getting better and better with each passing season, and people are choosing to stay at home and watch it. not me though, because i'm a superfan. i still go
Epic Swindle Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 internet streamings It's a lot of money to watch a bunch of millionares go through the motions. Rip off basically.

Rich Gobey Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I couldn't even be bothered to watch the cup final from the start.
kop205 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I'd take a season ticket if one was offered, having had the ballache of being hand-to-mouth and having to get tickets game at a time this year, missing only United out of the home games in all competitions, plus abiut 5 aways (two previous years I'd had seasies on loan - the first of which the lad took back 'because they've sacked the fat Spanish waiter so I'll go again now'; the second I think was money related). It is more out a sense of duty than actual enjoyment though. I haven't actually enjoyed going for at least 3 years now.
