to me the same as Garcia. No-one really knows, you win some you lose some.

I have no complaint with it not being given.

Thats how I feel - I'd be f***ing livid if TV replays showed conclusively that it was a foot over the line, but the way it is - if the question is STILL being asked then the linesman made the right call, he cant give it.

looks in to me.

1) the ball hasn't hit cech's hand yet so it's still travelling further in

2) it doesnt look over the crossbar in the picture, but the camera angle clearly shows the bar isn't aligned with the line. set the camera a few steps to the right and the ball will look over the line

History shows it wasn't given, while its an interesting debate in the aftermath of the game, We shouldn't , and we won't, go all Chelsea over it.

Agree. Line drawn under it.

Agree. We still laugh at Mourinho's ghost goal obsession. I think the right technology would show it over the line, even if it doesn't look to be past the cross bar, but it wont change anything, only make it worse really. Move on.

Not exactly the same as Garcia but I'm with you on the sentiment. Win some lose some. s'just life.

I don't think so, but it doesn't matter because Chelsea were value for their victory (or is that we were value for our defeat?). Sometimes you get them (Garcia), sometimes you don't (yesterday). Take it on the chin and don't spend the next seven years talking about 'ghost goals' at every opportunity (hello, Jose).

The Garcia goal is a ridiculous comparison cause the alternative was red card & penalty.

How about if we never got the pen in Istanbul? Would we have said Milan deserved the victory cause we gifted them 3 in the first half?

A game of football lasts 90 minutes. we were rubbish for 60 of them, but played well enough to draw level in the last half hour. If we had come back from 2 goals down you'd feel confident about winning it either in the 10/15 mins remaining or the extra time.

You can't blame the linesman when it's such a tough call to make, but i do feel we've had a goal unfairly chalked off and that cost us the cup.

But i'll shut up about it now.

Agree with this. This is something technology should decide as there is no way a ref can be sure either way in instances like this.

I think it's over the line but as I said, no way for the ref to be sure.

I dont think it is.

Garcia's shot was cleared away from the goal and the linesman made a judgement call. His decision was a goal. The picture was inconclusive but thats because a camara was not stationed directly in line with the goalline.

Carroll's shot was saved and cleared and the linesman made a judgement call. His decision was no goal. The picture still seems to remain inconclusive despite a camara being in a good position.

I agree what you say if the linesman judged 'no-goal' but that has nothing to do with a 'shot-save-judgement' scenario followed by inconclusive analysis.

It was a goal for me but I can't blame a bloke stood 40yards away for not making the split second call. I can however blame the t***s that run our game that we don't have technology in place to prevent this sort of schit.

Feck off Dus!!

quick photoshop edit, drawing a line across the goal line

Goal

That blue line edit is incorrect and its because the camara angle is only slightly off.

That blue line goes across the 2nd half of the goal line but the 1st half of the cross bar.

If the blue line is drawn across the whole of the goal line then it should cover the cross bar as well which it wont from that shot.

Don't think it did. But AC should've buried it regardless, that was a sitter so not going complain about whether it crossed or not.

Not sure I follow that

The goal line is what's important not the crossbar

The TV camera angle is not quite in line though, which is remarkably fecking pointless in itself

f*** off ITV
