I hope this is true and he doesn't suddenly pitch up at Chelsea.
Cooldude Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 He needs the year break, his hair's turned all gray the past year or so
Tosh Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I hope this is true and he doesn't suddenly pitch up at Chelsea. Chelsea still need to pension off a few of their old guard and rebuild - more so if they were to change their style of play to suit Pep. AVB was a resounding success with the players. So I am not sure that would be the role for Pep and if he got it, he'd have an uphill battle
growler Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I reckon dimatteo gets a season with the old guard at Chelsea. Pep is actually a good fit for us, especially given who runs our youth and the quality coming through. Give Kenny another season and secure pep for later. This is easy.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Valverde and Bielsa are 2 early names thrown into the ring - Valverde already publicly announced his resignation from Olympiakos at the end of the season.
Chili Palmer Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I fancy that Barca job, how many GCSE's do you need? I reckon dimatteo gets a season with the old guard at Chelsea. Feck it, bring him in now, give him Comollis's office, put a sun bed in it, tell him to chill for a year while getting settled then he can take over.

Rory Fitzgerald Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Has Allardyce ruled himself out yet? Not sure but Phil "Phil Brown" Brown is getting on his Harley and will be riding across Europe for his interview.
richwilks Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I have a horrible feeling he'll have a year out and return as Utd manager.

You can do that, but it isn't gonna be good for Kenny managing the team for a season knowing he's gonna get replaced, might affect the team mentally as well
Gambit Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Pep should stick at it. He will never manage a team like this Barcelona side ever again. Teams like this don't come along often. If he adds a few experienced players over the summer and sorts that crap defence out they will win everything again next season. To me it seems like he's doing a runner after experiencing failure for the first time. Not a good attitude to have IMO.

I think thats unfair, he wanted to take a break after last season and had to be talked into staying. Was listening to one of those spanish journos and he says that Pep is a very intense man and demands a lot from himself, maybe he just knows he needs a break.
Raj Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 To me it seems like he's doing a runner after experiencing failure for the first time. Not a good attitude to have IMO. But you know nothing. He almost quit last year due to the pressure of managing them. This was spoken about in depth by many journalists and he only renewed his rolling contract in Feb that year, before they had won the league and CL

Hassony Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Barcelona assistant coach Tito Vilanova is announced as Guardiola's replacement wow
Billy Dane Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Perhaps they are hoping he will have some time out and then come back when he has recharged his batteries.
