Sky to ditch Burton

Andy Burton, Sky Sports’ football touchline reporter who somehow survived the Richard Keys-Andy Gray sexism controversy in January 2011, has finally paid the price. His contract will not be renewed next season but he will work for Sky Sports News at Euro 2012. Burton, who was told by Jamie Carragher ‘You were lucky to keep your job’ in a TV spat after the Carling Cup final, became embroiled in the Keys-Gray furore over their disparaging remarks about assistant referee Sian Massey. Burton said to Gray off camera before the Wolves v Liverpool game: ‘Apparently a female lino today, bit of a looker.’
