Think the opposite is true, the fact he's homegrown means he's had to prove himself that bit more. Don't think he'll ever be a first choice if we get the players we want but I'd rather have him in reserve than paying over the odds for someone to sit on the bench.

Overrated? Many seem to think the only thing he can do is Work Hard™. He's a good footballer who knows when to keep it simple and when to be more ambitious.

Although true, it is getting less true. Think he has been slowly improving his positioning over the past few months.

Edit: I think he is a defensive midfielder by virtue of the fact that we can play him there and he can have good games and provide proper shape to the team, which is more than can be said for anyone else we have bar Lucas. He maybe doesn't have the ideal game for the holding role, but he does a job there.

He's better than I ever thought he was going to be, but he's not as good as some make out. If he can add a bit of positional intelligence to his game, he'll be more effective. More reliable than Adam on current form though. But we need better quality than what he offers

If he was nowhere near good enough he'd be out of his depth in games like tonight and he clearly isn't. If you mean he's not good enough to play in the CL for Barca, blah, blah, blah, you're probably right.

He did well, should definitely keep his place in front of Adam. He passed well covered well didn't give it away much if at all, basically the complete opposite of what Adam has been doing for awhile now.

He's average, not the level required for a regular first teamer. Useful to have as a fill in squad player.
