I actually really like Villas Boas as a manager. Smug fecker, yes. But he'd have been a really good appointment if he'd been allowed to get rid of the likes of Terry & Lampard.

 

Sounds like Mourinho in the summer then. I can see the scenes at Real now... wins the title, finally wins the fans over, they're left in tears as he departs from the centre-circle in a helicopter.

 

Mourinho is a great manager but won't be able to repeat his magic with an aging Terry, Lampard, Drogba etc. And give their plastic fans 3 months of dull football before they're moaning about him. They all hated him in that final season but the passing of time has given them all rose-tinted glasses.

I've time for him too, but it's turned out to be a spectacularly bad piece of career judgement from him and his advisors/management; how could he ever have looked at the long illustrious history of Abramovic's Chelsea and thought this is a good idea?
