ITV4, last week, Big Match Revisited, February 1983, we beat Ipswich 1-0 at home, they were the last team to beat us October the previous year. Our game was one of a few that took place because of our revolutionary heated blanket. Kenny scored a free kick to win it, possible dive from Rushie  , who screamed for a peno', Souness screamed b******s ya c*** at the ref when he wouldn't give it. Things that really stood out, Ipswich players when contesting 50/50 balls , would pull out when they saw it was Souness coming in from the other side, Goalkeepers picking the ball up when passed back by a team mate and goalkeepers only ever shook hands with each other after a game, and walked off chatting to each other.

Gerry Francis played in the other game for Coventry as they beat Man City 4 or 5 nil. One classic moment, a now overweight Gerry legged it down 3 quarters of the pitch and crossed for one of their goals. The ref waited for him to stagger back to the half way line, stopping for breath along the way and gave him a moment or two when he did get back to the half way line before blowing his whistle and restarting the game. Francis was f***ed.

The shot of him going ballistic with the 4th official when he thought Johnson should have had a penalty in ET of the 2001 Lge Cup Final will live with me forever.

Wrong thread?

nah, just a what ever happened to.... jumpers for goal post moment, Goal keepers picking the ball up, just seemed odd to see after all these years, yet it is what I did when I played as a kid. And them only shaking each others hands.
