He's completely correct. Such an acceptance of the status quo. Football is played and supported by so many people, yet the FA is almost entirely made up of White middle class middle aged men. When looking at racial equality, gender issues or anything else, it's absurd that the FA has any authority, but nothing will change any time soon.

Really good stuff that. The sadness is that he is so clearly right but the buffers in the FA will be looking at it and saying "he's not a football man, what does he know?".

I agree with what this guy has said but when you see the abuse Sol Campbell was given and now that I see he has recently joined twitter and the nutters are after him already its not suprising that no footballer currently playing in the top flight has come out.

 

Campbell may have got some of the abuse because he went from Spurs to Arsenal etc but a lot of it went way beyond that, just pure bile. I would imagine that any gay player who has seen that would refuse point blank to consider adding their voice to the issue, or any other player for that matter.

 

Its weird because if the abuse was because Sol Campbel was Jewish and the abuse was anti-semetic the press would have been all over it. What does that say about the media and other organisations, FA included? Does it say that they accept pure hatred when its in certain scenarios? I think it does. Which just goes to prove that everything that was said in that video was 100% correct. I have to agree with his sentiments about videos and placards and the 'kick it out' campaign, a load of crap that fails spectaculary to address the issue, handwringing at the highest level. As an organisation the FA is 25+ years behind the rest of the world, given that how can it expect those who play under its rules to be anything different?
