New Laptop

Some plonker, (me), dropped the laptop and have fekked the screen entirely & totally. I am now on the look out for a replacement & seek the wisdom that is the Genny.

 

I had a HP G61 which was fine for our family needs & have looked at HP Pavillion G6-1154sa lappy. 320 gb with 3gb RAM. £400 in Tesco. Have a couple of hundred in Tesco vouchers hence why looking there.

 

Is it possible to retrieve files (family photos etc) from the hard drive & bung it on the new one?

 

I have house insurance - anyone ever make a claim; worthwhile?
