Grover Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 As some light hearted relief, and following on from todays tunnel fracas, I feel it would be interesting to discuss who you would not like to trade punches with. As a loose guideline I will allow you to give one current squad member and one past hero. I would personally go for Agger, and Souness.
RBM Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 (edited) Pepe and Agger present can't split them and Souness Edited February 11, 2012 by Rushiesbushymoustache
The Hitman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Stevie Gerrard punches with the power and precision of a pro boxer
muleskinner Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 (edited) Reina, agger, Carroll Gerrard and Bellamy. Take the rest of em no bother Old skool lot were harder, wouldn't like to take too many of them on. Edited February 11, 2012 by muleskinner
Cheesecake Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Sourness was as hard as nails. Current lot, I reckon Bellamy would just go proper mental at you. Not LFC but I heard ray parlour could look after himself pretty well also.
Dmitch Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Martin the mauler skrtel... Looks like he would knock you out and start to mate with you whilst taking chunks out of your face and eating them! Old school would have to be robbie fowler as you can't hit God!
kop205 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I would personally go for Agger, and Souness. Souness looks like he would still be able to handle himself if he was playing now.
Foo Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Pepe Reina and Tommy Smith. On the other hand it seems like I could do both Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing with one hand behind my back. The pussies.
Murphman Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) Pepe Reina and Tommy Smith. . Tommy Smith got smashed to bits by Bobby Gould back in the day, they all meet their match. I reckon Fashanu would be a nightmare, and Duncan Ferguson. Of our lot, I reckon Jan Molby could wipe most people out, if he sat on them they'd be f*cked for starters! Benzo-13 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Souness looks like he would still be able to handle himself if he was playing now.Think he's no.1 myself.
Superjay Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 According to a groundskeeper I knew at Ewood. Souness would regularly go over the top of the ball in training to see who had the balls to square up to him. Danny (groundskeeper) also brought David Dunn out on a night out around Bolton one night and he is easily the stupidest man I've ever met but he did tell me souness was a great bloke but wasn't afraid to dish out the slaps if you weren't putting 100% in.
The Hitman Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Don't think any of the current bunch are that hard to be honest.Reflective of the way the game has gone. Not that I am either! Lots of contenders in the old-school:Obviously SounessJimmy CaseTommy SmithProbably Ron Yeats and St John too,and I've no idea but Billy Liddell looks like a bloke that could handle himself too.
Nebraska Red Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Chris Kirkland, I would not want to get any glass in my knuckles.
Mike Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Tommy Smith got smashed to bits by Bobby Gould back in the day, they all meet their match. It's another Murph fantasy. Or just confused, Smith famously launched Bobby Gould by his neck out of the penalty area. No mention for Gerry Byrne yet?Deffo. AK told me that in his era Jimmy Case was the hardest player he played with or against.
floyd Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Wasn't David James someone not to be messed with? As for other players, Mick Hartford and Billy Whitehurst
kop205 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Deffo. Best part of 120 minutes with a broken collarbone wasn't it? f***ing nails.
Farmer's Tan Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 (edited) Downing, because i'd kill the c*** if i got near him. Edited February 13, 2012 by Farmer's tan
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I don't think anyone on the present team is particularly hard.
