Is he the most honest manager in the league. He always seem to talk sense.

From his pre-match in the Guardian.

Mick McCarthy is a man under pressure as his side travel to London to face QPR on Saturday. Wolves haven't won a game this side of Woodstock and now Big Mick can't seem to make up his mind whether he has a magic formula or not. "There's no magic formula for it, there really isn't," McCarthy said of their search for a win. "We've just go to go down there and try to win the game, as we've done all season. I've had a magic formula here for five years. I got us up, kept us up, it's been great, but it's not something you can click your fingers and change it. It really just demands hard work, a performance, don't make any mistakes and don't get beaten in the first instance. That would be a good starting point. If I've got an instant remedy for it, it would have been done and sorted out so we need a response don't we? The club need a response from me, from the team, from the group of players, so that we can get a result."

I actually think he'd do well at one of the better teams given a chance.

Nah. I like him but he's too conservative by nature.

Don't reckons Bassong is a good signing either, though Frimpong is. They'll stay up, he'll be sacked. Wigan will go down, Martinez will resign, McCarthy will get the job, take them up and so it goes and so it goes.

Hodgson did say somthing similar but he was looking to buy someone from South Africa for 5million rand after their world cup showing, hence his use of the phrase 'a magic rand'
