My big hapless gob, your big hapless gob?

When have you said something in error/haplessly which has landed you in a whole heap of trouble?

Two examples from the Case archives ....

1. During a vigorous bout of spooning, I inadvertently 'moaned' out the name 'Lorraine' to my mucky co-spooner. Who I had been seeing for about 7 months, six and a half of which I had been totally faithful for. Her name was not 'Lorraine'. It was Amanda. Luckily, in this instance the weather outside came to my aid, but, curious to know why I'd been moaning about the weather in the middle of 'desert', I was dumped soon afterwards. 'Lorraine' was a girl from work I met on a 'school' trip.

2. I recently received a cold call from an Asian call centre asking me to provide my Bank Details as I had won £1000 which was to be wired to me immediately. knowing this was a scam, I asked the caller how his Mum was as I had recently made it extremely difficult for her to walk straight. Debate ensued and the voice at the other end started to swear in atypically Asian fashion. it then changed to that of a mate of mine called Danny, who I hadn't spoken to in about 6/7 months and whose mother had recently passed away after a long illness. Despite my protests, he didn't believe I didn't know it was him. My 'spiel' is a common one I use for cold callers of all types.

Now then - When/Where have your big fat gobs got you in trouble by accident - NOT by saying something you meant to say?
