As a fan, what would you prefer?

Silverware

or

4th place in the Prem

?

The way we played against Bolton and Kenny's reaction seemed to highlight that the players were more focused on getting to Wembley rather than beating Bolton and going for 4th.

Or can we can we get all 3? ;-)

Personally I'd rather get some silverware this season and use it to boost confidence and moral for a league run next year

Everyone likes winning things. You can't put 4th place in a trophy cabinet. That said we only have to win 1 game now to get some silverware so it shouldn't be a massive distraction towards us trying to get 4th spot.

Well we've got silverware basically. With all due respect to Cardiff.

I'd take the two cups over 4th anyday though. I know someone will mention all the "attracting better players" "making £30m" etc etc but I dont care, I want to win stuff and think it'd be really important for this group aswell to get used to winning stuff.

Fourth place. Usually I'd be all over the trophies but with our proximity to Arsenal and Chelsea I think we could really dent their squads if they missed out.

Most of them are there for just the CL money. One year out and a pile of them will flee.

And also for all our usual recruitment needs.

Have Cardiff pulled out of the final?

If our recent history in finals in the past 10 years is anything to go by, we hardly battered the smaller teams. We've struggled somewhat.

Lets hope the players aren't thinking like that before the game.

Not that I know of.

Heres hoping for struggles like Birmingham and West Ham. I'll gladly take that.

I'm sure they aren't, I'm just an internet forum poster not a Liverpool FC player.

Trophies

4th place doesn't get you anything. It gets you a qualifier for a tournament you might well go out of in the groups anyway

Trophies, definitely.

We're not managed by Wenger. Their fans are nuts with their policy of fielding weakened teams in Domestic Cups.

Also, I've never yet bought a newspaper or rewatched a match in full the day after we finished 4th in the League, but I have after we've won the League Cup or FA Cup.

4th because the thing I want most is to win the title and the quicker we get 4th, the quicker we get there.

Can argue that winning trophies breeds winning culture which gets you to winning titles quicker

Prefer trophies

Agreed - Won trophies in 2001, nearly won the title a year later. Won trophies 05 and 06, nearly won the title a couple of years later.

I'd like a final loss and 5th.

4th gets you more money, which is about it. Much rather trophies anytime of the day

Winning trophies increases revenue and hopefully the owners cough up more transfer funds
