£25mln p.a. is what the Warrior deal is worth (£150mln over 6 years). How much of a kick up is that based on the current deal as the last deal was signed just after we were European Champions.

The adidas deal is supposedly £12million p.a.

Saving face, couldnt afford to compete.

If the results are the reason then we having done too badly getting the second biggest deal only to Barcelona in the history of the game.

I dont know, this was probably too rich for them, I reckon they will be working on a different model to Warrior who wont necessarily have to make a direct profit on the deal.

Its obvious our owners have had a big say in how the deal went.

But as far as business for the club goes, who would say no to that?

Just gotta laugh at the way they always try n get a dig in

They're just crying coz they can't compete. Someone's gotta explain to me how we pulled off such an amazing deal

Although the adidas kit did look very good though, here's hoping the Warriors kit don't look like s***, although doubt many of us would care, laughing all the way to the bank

Its going to be fun seeing the new kit.

Assuming its 'not ideal', how much will fans willingly concede on this and accept it as part of a higher finance package that 'should' benefit us on the pitch ?

Or will the majority accept the £25mln in one hand and still whine about the kit design.

Its along the same lines as fans wanting lower ticket prices and bigger transfer fees & wages to attract players. Or wanting to stay in a relatively small stadium instead of moving etc etc.

This is Warrior's big splash entry into the market, been handled appallingly so far.

I'm hoping the new kit will be something like this one posted by Epic Swindle in another thread:

All red, simple Liverbird + Hillsborough flame. Adidas were too keen on putting their "labeling" on the kit meaning we often played in red and white instead of just red.

See below, similar to Spurs getting huge money from an online casino who needed the exposure.

Not a great start, seems Adidas got wind of the announcement and dropped a bit of s*** into the mix.

Thats a good point. No stripes should equal redder

Handled appallingly in what way?

Not exactly sure what we're meant to do about our existing shirt supplier having a hissy fit and releasing some PR nonsense.

Delay your announcement by a week or so?

I hope the new kit has america football style shoulder pads built in and crafty towels like Stoke

The number on the back should have led lights that flash when a player is offside so midfield know when to hold up the ball

And let the "bad" news of Adidas "dumping us" as shirt supplier sit their uncontested for a fortnight? Or do we leak the info of the new deal now (like we haven't known for 6 months anyway) and when the deal finally gets announced everyone goes "so what?".

Think it's a massive reach to say this has been handled appallingly.

Money talks, bull$^it walks.

Who cares what Adidas say. Imagine they renewed the deal for £15mln p.a. and said we were a great global brand ?

Maybe Warrior are paying above the odds and maybe thats not consistent with our recent performance.

So what, its the commercial equivalent of playing s*** and winning 1-0 with an o.g. in injury time, its fantastic !

Get our new one to do a press release explaining why they are shelling out a record amount for our shirt rights?

Pointing out to journos that we haven't 'lost' Adidas and their CEO is being a snide tvvat?

We should take everyone out for a nice meal and quietly whisper in their ears that we have a new kit deal as we tuck them up in bed after.

The Adidas story was pretty small, and would have been forgotten in a week. This is also pretty small, might get a few mentions, probably linked to the other one. Maybe it deserved its own space next week or next month if Warrior and us wanted a pure good news thing?

and a failure to do that is appalling?
