Paul Weller has continued the trend for unusual baby names by calling his sons Bowie and John Paul. He announced the news on his website yesterday after his wife Hannah gave birth on Saturday.

The announcement said: "Paul and his wife Hannah are happy to announce that their twins John Paul and Bowie were born on Saturday (January 14). Both boys are healthy and doing well following the birth and Paul and Hannah are thrilled and over the moon."

It looks like Paul loves David Bowie at the moment, following the singers' rocky history. Having claimed to only like "about three records of his," Paul then revealed to Mojo magazine in 2008: "I'm a born-again Bowie freak."

The 53-year-old now has seven children with four women: Jesamine and Stevie Mac with partner of 13 years Samantha Stock, Natt and Leah with ex-wife Dee C. Lee, and Dylan with make-up artist Lucy.

Paul met Hannah when she provided vocals for his 2008 LP and toured with him. Two years later, they married in a small ceremony on Capri in September 2010. They revealed the pregnancy in November.

The Modfather spoke about the age gap in an interview with the Sunday Times magazine in 2010, saying: "I've got a new girl, Hannah - she's lovely.

"There's an age-gap, but I don't have to justify that - I couldn't give a monkey's... It's not like Hannah's a kid; she's 25. As far as I'm concerned, she could have been 34 or 44 - I haven't got a thing about young chicks. I like all women. What can I say? I'm in love and that's that.

"We work, we're in love, and we complement each other. She just fills a part of me. I've been in love before, but I've never felt as fulfilled as this."
