5InIstanbul Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I have been just been told by someone who i trust implicitily as telling the truth, and he's in a position to know this. It has been proposed to the FA, by whom or from where he does not know, that the game be played behind closed doors. The FA are cacking themselves about how this one is going to pan out. He doesnt know whether it will be considered seriously or not at this stage but he does know that privately they consider this draw their worst nightmare and the proposal has been made. Any more I get I'll let you know
Cobs Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 can't see that happening at all. I can see the council stepping in and saying 'No chance Man U are having 6,000 tickets' but that's about it
Swipe Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 can't see that happening at all. I can see the council stepping in and saying 'No chance Man U are having 6,000 tickets' but that's about it Yeah agree. Farthest they'd go is say no away fans. But even then I'd be surprised if they did it.
Dan Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I was going to suggest that the FA would do this as a piss take following the Oldham incident as some kind of punishment. No way it will happen.
smithdown Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Might as well just pull out of the competition if that happened.

RBM Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Are they proposing the Old Hoilett game is played behind closed doors too? No way that this will happen. Liverpool would be into them for millions in lost revenue just for starters
RafaShanks Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Paper, scissors, stones between 11 players in the style of Family fortunes at Manc FA headquarters?
Redray Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 How about just celebrity fans of both clubs only? Much more interesting if there was trouble.
Ed the Wool Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Serves the the b******s right for stitching up our player and our club. I wouldn't put anything past the bent c**** after that report.
Boca Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 How about just celebrity fans of both clubs only? Much more interesting if there was trouble. Danny Care could drive our team bus.
_00_deathscar Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 But what's the difference between the cup game at Anfield and the league game at their place a week or so later? The Liverpool fans are a bunch of racists? (According to the media anyway) How about just one fan from each side? I nominate Carralegend. All in favour...?
Flasher Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I nominate Carralegend. All in favour...? I was thinking just that
Stupid Sexy Flanders Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 They never had problems with United fans chanting 'murderers' before.
Cunny Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 can't see either club being happy with no ticket revenueITV/ESPN wont be happywhat happens for the league game at Old Trafford?
smithdown Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 can't see either club being happy with no ticket revenueITV/ESPN wont be happywhat happens for the league game at Old Trafford? don't think the mancs will give a shiny sh*te about revenue, tbh if this suggestion is real and has come from utd then the FA are in deep sh*t
Ed the Wool Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I'd wager it has come from Utd. Someone said in another thread they'll do anything to gain an advantage. This is it.
Dan Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 The Oldham incident has given them the perfect angle. If it's true of course.
Billy Dane Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 There will be all out war if that happened. the fans could meet up on Stanley Park and have heir own "game".
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 The Oldham incident has given them the perfect angle. If it's true of course. Do they really want to set the precedent that, if one of your supporters is found guilty of racial abuse, you have to play your next FA Cup match behind closed doors?
Gerry Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Do they really want to set the precedent that, if one of your supporters is found guilty of racial abuse, you have to play your next FA Cup match behind closed doors? Which of course hasn't even happened yet. Can't see it happening myself.
Dan Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Do they really want to set the precedent that, if one of your supporters is found guilty of racial abuse, you have to play your next FA Cup match behind closed doors? I meant Utd rather than the FA. Can't see it happening at all for the reasons you state.
smithdown Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 They never do set precedents. "current climate"
