Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 having booked my flight to the UK late before Christmas, I ended up home-alone with the nipper for NY Eve, so with balls all on the idiot box - she was not into Pirates of the Caribbean - we ended up watching the Top 50 magic tricks of all-time on C5. She was well into it, which was good & even did 2 card tricks on me that I'm fecked if I can explain & balls knows how she knows them....anyway.... What I gleaned from this is: Paul Daniels was actually really f***ing good. I think Spitting Image probably murdered the public perception of him. One trick he did around #5 or something was a simple ball & cup one & it was fecking ace. Also the lovely Debbie McGee isn't a complete & utter monster David Copperfield can go & suck ass - making the Statue of Liberty disappear? Flying around the top of a big top tent? Sawing your own legs off? f*** off, it didn't happen. Yes, it's a clever trick & I can't for the life of me work it out but it doesn't impress me - the Paul Daniels one above is far more impressive because it's simple There was a husband/wife paid on & he had some silk that he'd wrap around her & in the space of about 2 secs she'd have changed her outfit - but what happened to the one she was wearing before? f***ing incredible it was, Copperfield can f*** off, this was simple but amazing
