R4 cards

cousin's bought one of these R4 cards - similar to what my little girl has though she's on the R4i (as she has the DSi).. this card my cousin has is for a regular DS.. he's given it to me to have a look at cos he couldn't get it working and - unfortunately - neither can i.. just comes up with a screen saying 'loading...' but nothing happens..

 

i have downloaded the software off the r4ds .com website and stuck it on as per instructions.. i'm sticking them onto his 8Gb micro SD card but when i put the card into the R4 and then into the DS i'm getting that 'loading...' screen.. any ideas? cheers
