Molby Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 can't really imagine it without Luis also, when I typed 'with' it added some predictive phrase 'with my mum' which is strange anyway if we don't have Luis and go 442 I'd want Kuyt and Carroll or just Kuyt and the usual set up behind him may as well split the CBs and have Hendo prompting too, in our quest to become Barcelona, with the FBs right up in midfield when we start attacks and, I have 2 spares

Shelve deserves a start, thought he was great yesterday, really done him good that spell at Blackpool
honourablegeorge Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Struggling to keep any faith in Carroll, tbh. He did have a good start to a game when we played 4-3-3 with Suarez and Bellamy either side of him (Fulham) but after forty minutes or may be less he wasn't arsed.

Shelve deserves a start, thought he was great yesterday, really done him good that spell at Blackpool[/quotethe rationale for Kuyt in a 442 is that he's our only other orthodox forward - and static he aint and would also do a lot of work and create space for Carroll, thus allowing Carroll to concentrate on scoring thumping headers instead the idea of playing Carroll on his own up front doesn't appeal to me at all unless his movement and hold up play improves 300% between now and then......otherwise the other lads won't get anything from him and then we'll be caught between two stools the idea that he would 'make the ball stick' in a game against Wigan, yes Wigan is becoming more and more unpalatable now I see that Kenny is firmly on track to make us a fluid outfit if you think of the evolution of players that can make the ball stick/run the channels and bring others in HeskeyCrouchTorres Carroll - we'd be going backwards I'd go with something a bit akin to Chelsea away in the league cup. -----------------Shelvey-----Henderson------Adam -----------------Kuyt----------------------------Maxi -------------------------------Carroll well it's nostalgic I guess
Gunga Din Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) I'd go with something a bit akin to Chelsea away in the league cup. -----------------Shelvey-----Henderson------Adam -----------------Kuyt----------------------------Maxi -------------------------------Carroll think its too slow up top. Chelsea were always going to come out and attack, which will leave space. Wigan wont, they'd be made up with a point. If Suarez doesnt play (i think he will, no way would Kenny have subbed him yesterday if he thought for a second he would get a ban) then its got to be Bellamy starting ahead of maxi. I would start the same as yesterday providing everyone is fit. no need to change just for the sake of changing Edited December 19, 2011 by Gunga Din

Epic Swindle Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Not sure about this chopping and changing the match thread malarkey. Bound to be 1-1 anyway, it's Wigan away.

Joppo Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Bellers for Kuyt though. After he played most of the game against Villa I reckon he´ll probably start on the bench. Whats his fitness like nowadays? Maybe Kuyt up top with Maxi and Downing off of him.
David Hodgson Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Bellers for Kuyt though. Defo, but I think that Kenny (and the medical team) may have a policy about Bellamy not playing back to back games, so close together. I could be wrong, but I can't see Bellamy starting at Wigan. think its too slow up top. Chelsea were always going to come out and attack, which will leave space. Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Hang on - is Molby allowed to start match threads? What's his record so far this season?

Was talking to someone yesterday at the game re Carroll, and he said somthing that got me thinking. how many times do you see a winger cross a ball and a centre forward head it in? deadballs aside, very few headers are scored, when wingers send balls in usually the goal is scored with the feet. the big centre foward scoring laods of headers is something that belongs to a bygone age. i think we need to be getting forwards in there with pace ang guile and movement, rather than a big lump like Carroll. back to the transfer market in January
Epic Swindle Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) What is it about Wigan away? One of those places where time stands still. Edited December 19, 2011 by Epic Swindle

What's his record so far this season? well my last one was the ressies catastrophic defeat to the mancs last week What is it about Wigan away? One of those places where time stands still. what does that mean? are you massively stoned?
Farmer's Tan Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 we are going to f***en batter these, they won't be able to break us down get forced back, keep losing the ball either from us pressuring the man on the ball or just the man on the ball having any easy options. The pressure increasing as the game wears on,the only thing that will stop us is our own finishing. Think we will definitely score 6 this time.

Interesting which player is top of the tree too.
