In an interview in the Sunday Times Keane hit back at Ferguson, claiming that he felt abandoned by his manager during the latter part of his career and suggested that Ferguson puts his own interests ahead of United's.

"People say he stood by me in difficult times," Keane said. "But [he didn't] when I was 34, not when I was towards the end and had a few differences with Carlos Queiroz. All of a sudden then, 'Off you go, Roy, and here's the statement we've done'."

On his coaching career, Keane added: "If you want to question my managerial record ... listen, you could question every pundit's managerial skill in relation to his and we're all going to come up short. But I would also say that without players like myself, maybe he wouldn't have such a good managerial record because players who go down the punditry road, it's soon forgotten that we put bodies on the line for him."

Keane also cites the legal action taken against John Magnier over the breeding rights to the stallion Rock Of Gibraltar as an example that everything Ferguson does is not necessarily in the interests of United.

"This didn't help the club, the manager going to law against its leading shareholder," said Keane. "How could it be of benefit to the club? I said, 'You're not going to win', and he said, 'I don't care, no-one does that to me'. And I go, 'Okay, off you go, I'm not going to change your mind'."

The best thing about this interview is that it'll annoy the f*** out of their fans cos one of their heroes is saying what we've been saying for years....eg

“[Roberto] Martinez [Wigan’s manager] made a point about it a year or two ago, suggesting certain managers were in Ferguson’s pocket, although he then claimed what he said was misrepresented. But you see it. Ex-players and even managers, like lapdogs around him, nodding their heads.

Pair of c****.

Was crippling Haaland and bragging about it hin his book, with the 8 game ban it brought, in the best interests of the club?

I don't need some other c*** to tell me Ferguson is a c***, especially when so much of what makes them c**** is common to both.

Still, it is nice that the 'Keano thinks you're w*****s' song can now be applied even more universally to them.

thinks outside the hive mind at least. obviously a bit nuts though. at half time during the basel game he said he thought the mancs had seen too much of the ball. kind of brought his management career into a bit more light.

I hope they have a big fight and kill each other

with G Neville stepping in to break it up, and then gets mauled to death by Keane's Labrador

Keane's labrador is dead.

I am sure it was a relief to the poor mutt.

how the hell do you know such information? Scanning the canine obituaries on a daily basis?

He also defended Keegan re. his "I would love it" ourburst on SKY tv Felt that Keegan was just defending his team. He went on to say :

"Keane believes not all managers were as brave as Keegan when it came to dealing with Ferguson. "You see managers interviewed after their team has beaten Chelsea or Arsenal. "We've won and Fergie will be delighted., maybe a bottle of wine will be on the way to me now". You work that one out"

I don't like either of them, but this is great pantomime :)

the sooner ferguson is gone from this league the f***ing better. Far too much influence. If this was a normal trading market him and his f***ing lapdogs would be looked at by the OFT

I met someone this week who is related to the head of member services for the LMA. I couldn't believe there was a professional administration team employed, member subs must be rough.

From the brief sound of it, it seems like she has a very cushty number.

It's an interesting squabble. I did note when Keane was criticising the Man Utd youngsters the other day that this is exactly the same stuff he was saying just before Ferguson booted him out of the club. I guess when Ferguson heard Keane making the same statements in his role as pundit as he made as a player that ended his time at United, it must have wound him up and that's probably why he delivered a low blow about Keane's managerial failures.

Both are a pair of c****, both are hypocrites and both are just typical obnoxious humans that you would associate with that s***stain of a club.

I'm hoping that what Keane is doing here is prompting the critical analyses of Ferguson's reign of corruption and intimidation that surely must come. I've said it before, but someone ought to write a definitive muck-raking book on the tramp - it'd sell a million copies.
