With five games to go, there were still as many teams in the race. I had the fortune to see Flamengo smash Cruziero 5-1 in Rio, but they lost their two subsequent games and it ended up being a straight duel between leading pair Corinthians and Vasco.

Last weekend, penultimate game, with the Corinthians-Fluminense game finished at 2-0, and Figurense-Vasco tying 1-1 in stoppage time, Corinthians had the title won, but a second Vasco goal with a minute to go took it to the final games, which happen to be two massive derbies this sunday: Flamengo-Vasco & Palmeiras-Corinthians (the latter I could've attended, had I not been flying home that evening). Worth watching this sunday afternoon if you can get the streams. Personally, I'm hoping my adopted SP team, Palmeiras, do Vasco a favour.

Was Flu v Vasco which made it even better. Hilarious at the end with Corinthians players waiting on the pitch to celebrate and fans already going nuts, still, they shouldnt really f*** this up now.

Ah yeah other way around it was. I can't stand Corinthians, the Utd. of Brazil, a bit of schadenfreude where they're concerned is always appreciated. laugh.gif

Wish it was on tele over here, cant believe Cruzeiro might go down aswell. Atletico Mineiro fans would love finishing them off.

Like the idea of loads of derbies on the final day, keeps it all mega interesting.

The street is buzzing of excitement these days! I live close to a favela in Niterói, Rio dJ, and when Vasco scored that winning goal against Flu, I heard fireworks non-stop the next four hours!

I just REALLY, REALLY hope that history repeats itself and Flamengo beat the s*** out of Vascú and Corinthians win the title!

VAI PRA CIMA DELES MENGOOOO!

sad news about Socrates passing away.

One of the coolest footballers ever.

That Brasil 82 side made me fall in love with football outside of LFC.

Corinthians had one glorious chance at the end of the first half. Other than that they seem content to park the bus.

I hope it comes back to bite them.
