Cobs Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 We're gonna smash them! Hopefully Stevie's back and raring to go. Tempting to put him in ahead of Kuyt and keep the rest as per Chelsea.
Swipe Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Yep i'd bench Kuyt. Looked wrecked yesterday. Atkinson is the ref.
Ethan Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Bellers must play - he always scores against his old sides
Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 City have scored 2 or more goals in all of their league games this season and are unbeaten. Thats impressive form coming into this. It may cause Kenny to adopt different tactics/personnel/approach to that seen at Chelsea.

Wouldn't start Gerrard. Kelly right back, Johnson at right mid. When we're pressing them or on the attack, this can leave Kelly, Skrtel and Agger at the back, Lucas sitting, Johnson and Enrique down the wings

Andy-oh-six Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 We'll stuff them then probably lose to Fulham and get a draw at home against QPR to undo all the good work. It's the way of it... The way they've brushed away nearly every team suggests a draw would be a decent result but we are more than capable of beating them.
Earl Hafler Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) That Johnson thing is never gonna happen. Straight swap for Kuyt. This opinion that Johnson needs the space infront of him to run into, well it's not on my download list. I don't want Johnson at right back against City. Play him right and they'll take him apart. CarraLegend Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 That Johnson thing is never gonna happen. Yep, he's had some top managers and none of them play him there, he's a full back.
Swipe Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 That Johnson thing is never gonna happen. Agree.
Sion Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Generally its only the posters who despise Kuyt who want Johnson to play RM
Dan Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Johnson is a brilliant right back, leave him there and give that s*** b*****d clichy something to think about.
Cobs Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 Kelly right back, Johnson at right mid. Not the game to be indulging the whims of fans, this.
Clay Davis Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 It did work wonders with Bale. But I still wouldn't do it, he's been a full back his whole career.
Maldini Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 It did work wonders with Bale. But I still wouldn't do it, he's been a full back his whole career. He was a CB til he was 17 believe it or not, also played right-mid (and in the hole!) a good bit for Portsmouth in his last season there. I'm not sure it'd work for him there though, he's better running onto the ball with space ahead of him.

Earl Hafler Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Generally its only the posters who despise Kuyt who want Johnson to play RM What a crock of s*** that is. I've never posted it before this season - Knox has brought it up before with others and i've always disagreed with it - but it makes sense now we have a top right back in Kelly and Johnson is very good in the opponents final third. Kenny used three at the back last season, and we have better players for it this season. Looks like a 4-4-2 but with Johnson down the right and Enrique as an attacking fullback, it's basically a Brazil style team he's better running onto the ball with space ahead of him. I love this. He doesn't have space from right mid ? It's just bricks infront of him from there ? And i think the Bale comparison is very apt.

No, you get less time on the ball in midfield, you also tend to receive the ball when stationary more than when at RB. It could work for him, what do I know but I think the fact hat he's good going forward from RB doesn't necessarily mean he'd be better (or even good) at RM. Bale wasn't a LB who was moved to midfield, he switched between the two long before Redknapp realised he was actually good.

Every time I did he was at left back though.
Spion kop Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I hope someone gives Silva some dodgy Lasagne before this game, that little gimp runs everything.
