Rather amused seeing 6 English players on the bench, all lined up prettily in a row in the opening tv reel; Henderson, Carroll, Carra, Downing, Kelly, Spearing (+ Doni the token Brazilian). After all that talk of the 'English tax' and their edge over foreign players in 'hitting the ground running', did our win actually hint at a strategic misstep in our transfer dealings? Will it have an effect in our next few windows in influencing the players we go for? The best of that lot, (sans Gerrard) was fielded and scored a gem of a goal. Perhaps even Kenny is finally seeing it? When was the last time we had 6 English players on the bench at the same time anyway?
