I saw a little of the execrable Piers Morgan's interview with Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne the other night, in which he admitted that at the height of his battle with the bottle he was drinking four bottles of whisky a day.

 

Now, I don't know about you, but I do genuinely feel a little more relaxed about my own often dangerous levels of drinking when I hear about things like this.

 

I also remember it said that Ringo used to get through 12 bottles of wine a day in the early 70s. Extraordinary stuff.
