Carra shouldn't start - Skrtel is in better form and his partnership with Agger is the best we have at the moment

Kelly should start - our best right back and in very good form, especially coming off the U21's.

Gerrard shouldn't start - an injury setback after an operation means i'd rest him. He'll be needed over Christmas.

Carroll - you have the cheek to take the piss out of me wanting Suarez there and you have Carroll ?!

 

Formation is sound. Personnel needs a tweak.

Carra and Kuyt - Mainstays. Men you'd take into battle with you. And the club has had it's battles in the last few years so i can see why fans, who've been in the trenches themselves, are reluctant to leave these men on the bench, but we really should be kicking on.

if it's a nominal position then it's actually a 4-4-2

 

aside from that, what does he have in common with Ray Kennedy apart from having a decent left foot?

 

there was a reason why Kennedy was converted from striker but I can't see how that would apply to Carroll

 

Carroll needs to be released imo, even at a £20m loss

and Downing needs to be converted, starting with expectations, from winger to ball carrier

 

there are no wingers anymore, only ball carriers and by definition these can run down the wing

 

 

if Silva was English he'd have been pegged out wide and been made in to a winger

same for Mata

 

 

we need to f*** this way of thinking off sharpish and also forget about the fact we spent £35m on Carroll

 

a job for both Kenny and the owners to come to terms with this and get it sorted

 

then get a much more mobile goalscoring forward in that has pace instead of aerial ability

 

as an example, I'd swap Carroll for Bent right now, and pay them money if we had to
